Senior Content Developer
The Global Product Marketing team strives to engage investors to invest or remain invested in FTI products by creating compelling stories that bring our products to life through marketing content that is leveraged globally. It is responsible for bringing to life the active management value proposition for our products by delivering compelling content, materials, and communications across all regions globally.

The Senior Content Developer/Sr Product Marketing Specialist is a key member of the Global Product Marketing team. As such, the individual in this position will participate in the development of strategic marketing plans as well as lead execution of these plans by developing content and materials that support business and sales goals. These strategic marketing plans will help Franklin Templeton achieve its product and business goals and may include new product launches, initiatives targeted at positioning or repositioning our products in the marketplace or at raising or retaining assets. This role will be instrumental in execution of marketing plans that span all markets (institutional and retail), geographies, and audiences. This individual will also closely collaborate with senior leaders across cross-functional teams to ensure that content and messaging is consistently scaled across all channels and regions. An ideal candidate will also have a mix of traditional and digital marketing experience with an eagerness to learn and drive new marketing strategies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develops and executes product marketing content and materials across a range of equity and/or fixed income investment teams, serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) throughout the organization
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data to help translate into compelling and timely product marketing stories
  • Support the creation and execution of integrated marketing campaigns as needed to align with broader marketing initiatives and in response to major market events
  • Excellent writing skills to develop and execute product or educational topic papers as needed for multiple audiences and mediums
  • Leverage market research and customer data to develop targeted content strategies to support multiple business channels
  • Develop measurement approaches to assess impact of marketing campaigns; monitor campaign performance to optimize and increase engagement
  • Actively seeks to drive business results by identifying opportunities to develop and strengthen our product marketing materials and messaging in accordance to client- and/or regional-specific requirements
  • Takes responsibility for creating and continuously improving product-specific marketing literature and sales tools
  • Liaises with Global Marketing Services teams, product management and portfolio proxy teams to help articulate investment process and messaging, creating unique, timely and relevant selling propositions
  • Liaises with different internal groups, of all levels, including sales/marketing, client service, management, legal, performance, and design
  • Serves as a product resource for all areas of the company; acts as an advocate within Global Product Marketing, driving renewed methods of interest in and visibility for our product line across regions globally
  • Oversees assigned communication projects to ensure quality, proper execution, and timely completion. Reviews materials and communications for regulatory compliance and coordinate routing of material to required reviewers
  • Completes ad-hoc projects as necessary. Assists Manager in coordinating correspondence, production schedules, etc. Provide ongoing communications support to the department as needed.
  • Executes independent projects to enhance department efficiency as needed
  • Ability to efficiently work in a virtual environment where business partners may be in multiple locations

Ideal candidates will have:

Knowledge, Education, & Experience:
  • 5+ years' experience in investment product marketing/communication role working with senior investment professionals and product teams
  • Knowledge of investment concepts
  • Knowledge of regulatory and industry rules, guidelines, and standards critical (SEC, FINRA, GIPS)
  • Understanding of global governance and regulatory compliance rules strongly desired (UK/Europe, and Asia-Pacific Rim)
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably with a major in economics, business, or marketing. MBA a plus
  • Other industry qualifications/licenses a plus
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
  • Asset management industry experience critical
  • Experience working with both equity and fixed income product line-ups
  • Exposure to multiple client types (e.g., Institutional, Retail, non-U.S.) strongly desired
  • Supervisory experience a plus
Skills & Abilities:
  • Equity and fixed income product, market and industry knowledge, and ability to demonstrate this understanding in the creation and execution of marketing materials
  • Functional knowledge of investment concepts with the ability to apply those concepts to the development of compelling product stories, content, and materials
  • Strong verbal and writing skills
  • Demonstrated track record of success in executing strategic communications plans, including:
    • Creative development of a wide range of prospecting and servicing marketing materials (e.g., sales presentation pitch books, product profiles/fact sheets etc.)
    • Excellent writing skills, with a demonstrated ability to write for different audiences and mediums (e.g., print, Web) to ensure effective, consistent messaging and branding
    • Management of compliance oversight and coordination to ensure all materials adhere to established policies, procedures, and controls in place for audit purposes
  • Superior project management skills, with demonstrated proficiency in establishing and driving complex projects from inception through to completion, including marshaling appropriate resources from across the organization, defining project milestones, establishing roles and responsibilities, tracking and reporting project progress, and communicating progress to stakeholders and business partners.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, proficiency at prioritization, the ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks, and the ability to operate under tight deadlines
  • Adaptable to changing priorities, new requests, innovative approaches to work flow, and working under tight deadlines
  • Experience working with cross-functional and multi-channel teams (e.g., sales/marketing, client service, management, legal, performance, and graphics)
  • Ability to work effectively within a large organization as part of a global team with resources positioned globally
  • A true team player, translating prior knowledge and experience into strong and productive relationships internally and externally
Problem Solving & Decision Making:
  • Assertive, strong examples of "leadership" capabilities/strengths in facilitating projects, overcoming obstacles and challenges (i.e., problem-solving experience)
  • A strong leader who is able to manage and complete multiple assignments and functions
  • Ability to provide technical guidance to other department personnel; may coordinate duties of department staff (act as lead to junior staff)
