The underlying premise of the position is that increased security will significantly reduce risk and add substantial value to our business.Role and Key Responsibilities Design, implement and administer various network security technologies. These include but are not limited to:Firewalls Proxies IPS Remote Access and Site-to-Site VPNs Two-Factor Authentication Wireless Networking Vulnerability Management SIM/SEM Solutions Assist in the shaping of security policies and procedures. Creating efficiencies around logging, correlation and auditing capabilities. Troubleshooting issues down to the packet decode level. After hours and weekend on-call rotations are required. Continuously evaluating, improving and deploying solutions to improve the availability, integrity and confidentiality of the firm’s Intellectual Property. Technical Skills and Knowledge Requirements Highly proficient administering Checkpoint and Cisco firewalls. Experience with proxy implementations including WCCP, PAC Files, ICAP, various authentication mechanisms, etc. Understanding of wireless networking and associated security protocols. A controller-based architecture is required; autonomous is a plus. Strong understanding of both security and network fundamentals and protocols. Knowledge of Windows and Linux security best practices. In-depth knowledge of both IPSec and SSL VPN technologies. Proficient with Cisco IOS CLI commands. Proficient in Python or Perl and basic shell scripting. Excellent communications skills and customer focused. Ability to translate complex technical issues into common language. Willingness to learn new technologies rapidly and remain at the cutting edge of technologies. Outstanding team player but can work independently when required. Qualifications/Education Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred. 5-7 years of network security experience. CISSP is a plus.
