The Change Management Consultant will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery and adoption of business capabilities through utilization of change management strategies and tactics. This person will focus on changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organization structures using influencing, strong communication and partnership skills to achieve results. The change consultant will work closely with project teams, senior stakeholders and executives, coaching where needed, to drive change efforts over the full duration of projects to encourage adoption early, establish change advocates and ultimately deliver on the end value & ROI earlier.

What would a typical day entail?

  • Ability to apply a structured methodology and lead change management activities.
  • Ability to implement and apply a change management process and tools to create a strategy to support adoption of the changes required by a project or initiative.
  • Lead and support communication efforts - Drive and support the design, development, delivery and management of communications.
  • Assess the change impact - Conduct impact analysis, assess change readiness and identify key stakeholders.
  • Ensures business unit readiness as projects deliver.
  • Support training efforts -Provide input, document requirements and support the design and delivery of training programs.
  • Provide support, coaching and mentoring to other project resources to integrate change management as part of project delivery
  • Develop continuous improvement within the PMO around managing change
Change Management & Planning:
  • Understand business strategy and program/project objectives.
  • Create the overall change management strategy for partner organizations
  • Design and implement change management deliverables/activities such as: readiness assessment, stakeholder's assessment, change impact assessment, champion network, communications plan, training plan, education materials, and user adoption metrics.
  • Integrate change management activities into project plan
  • Participate in requirements gathering process on assigned projects to understand the scale of change.
  • Partner with (business/technical) Project Managers to deliver change plan.
  • Support the design, development, delivery and management of communications (includes all levels).
  • Identify and develop contingency plans to mitigate and address risks within the change plan.
  • Identify and manage anticipated resistance to optimize awareness, adoption and acceptance
  • Support organizational design and definition of roles and responsibilities
  • Evaluate and ensure user readiness
  • Communicate with and influence internal and external stakeholders regarding key project objectives and steps to ensure buy-in and gain commitment.
  • Track and report issues with change plans and Business Unit Readiness
  • Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress
Partnership and Leadership:
  • Communicate with and influence internal and external stakeholders regarding key project objectives and steps to ensure buy-in and gain commitment.
  • Guiding others on best practice change management strategies, methodologies, techniques and tools
  • Develop, deliver and evaluate activities to drive adoption, education and increased organizational capability in leading and managing change
  • Ability to spearhead the planning and execution of change management programs
  • Propagating the role of change management within the projects by actively coaching, advising and skilling-up PMO team members to take forward as part of their core responsibilities in project leadership/execution.
  • Train, develop, coach, and mentor project team members.
  • Support and engage senior leaders
  • Coach managers and supervisors
  • Coordinate efforts with other specialists
Organizational Change adoption:
  • Develop, deliver and evaluate activities to drive adoption, education and increased organizational capability in leading and managing change
  • Create the overall change management strategy for partner organizations
  • Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations.
  • Lead ongoing improvements/developments at the department level and change management at the organizational level

What would make a candidate successful in this role?
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree or equivalent
  • 3+ years cross-functional, cross-disciplinary change management
  • Business process/continuous improvement, change management and project management expertise
  • General knowledge and ability to apply business practices in the context of project management activities
  • Proven experience managing organization change and communication
  • Strong consulting skills: active listening skills, ability to extract and quickly process key information, summarize key needs or interests of internal customers, and provide targeted and appropriate insights, communication and recommendations.
  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent active listening skills
  • Ability to clearly articulate appropriate messages to a variety of audiences
  • Strong communication and presentation skills: exhibits professional maturity, confidence and competence. Knows how to summarize and communicate the key points and business case for others to effectively and expeditiously make important decisions
  • Strong interpersonal skills: proven abilities to develop important relationships internally and externally
  • Ability to influence others (without authority) and move toward a common vision or goal

  • Proven experience with large-scale organizational change efforts
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Change management certification or designation desired (e.g., PROSCI)
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of FTI products, systems, functions (and Business Units), marketing, and/or service policies and procedures is preferred but not required
  • Other domain-specific knowledge and abilities to be determined
Skills and Abilities:
  • Microsoft products including MS Project, Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint

Supervisory Responsibility:
  • May have direct and indirect staff (i.e. project team) supervisor responsibilities.
Travel Requirements:
  • May be required to travel to Franklin Templeton offices, customer, or vendor locations
