Chapter Leader (Director, Software Engineering)
Job Description:
Are you a leader who blends deep technology & business expertise with a passion for mentoring and advancing associates? At Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations Technology, we are looking for a chapter leader to lead software engineers delivering next generation technology solutions. You will collaborate with other leaders to establish the standards for the chapter, influence the strategic decisions, deliver solutions, and directly manage a team of chapter members who primarily work within autonomous squads. You are dedicated to helping them grow and develop their knowledge and ensure alignment on the "how" of the work they perform. You are committed to developing your own expertise and knowledge to bring the latest thinking to your role to empower others with that knowledge.

The Team

This Chapter Leader will work in partnership with Squad Leaders and other Chapter Leaders to build and support highly resilient platforms to perform record keeping and calculate and distribute Net Asset Value (NAV) for Fidelity Funds. By demonstrating and promoting Fidelity and agile leadership behaviors, you evolve and sustain our innovative, agile culture.

The Expertise You Have
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience
  • Experience working in an agile delivery environment
  • Proven expertise and passion for delivering complex technology solutions and achieving results
  • Passionate about engineering excellence, innovation, and empowerment
  • Aptitude and eagerness to learn new domain
  • Experience in software development and deep understanding of the software life cycle stages
  • Leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing people and teams
  • Identifying and acquiring talent needs; and resource planning and talent allocation across large organizations
  • Financial services experience, preferred
  • Prior experience in Java, AWS, preferred

  • Actively sharing insights, knowledge, industry practices and developments across the organization
