Analyst, Legal & Operational Due Diligence

This position will provide support to the legal and Operational Due Diligence departments.

Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs):

Legal

• Provide support to the legal team which includes:

o Preparing and submitting documentation relating to client investments; following up with relevant parties (e.g., investment managers, fund administrators)

o Assisting with drafting and proofreading various documents; reviewing simple contracts under attorney supervision, and obtaining necessary signatures

o Preparing presentations for internal and external meetings, reports, and general correspondence, including gathering relevant data

o Maintaining client contact lists

o Monitoring and managing the legal department mailbox; downloading and forwarding documents, uploading to databases, and responding as needed

o Organizing and maintaining legal documents in various databases

o Assisting with compliance monitoring, including compliance calendar system

o Assisting with process improvements

o Performing other duties as required

Operational Due Diligence

• Provide support to the Operational Due Diligence team with respect to the initial due diligence and ongoing monitoring of investment managers and funds. This includes:

o Organizing and uploading to the current research system all documents used for manager reviews; ensuring data is accurate and up to date

o Compiling and inputting relevant manager documentation and data, and preparing manager scorecards

o Managing internal reports through the manager research system

o Preparing materials for onsite manager visits

o Ensuring that call and meeting notes are completed; providing support where needed

o Monitoring and tracking critical events that require follow-up

o Monitoring outside vendors (background check and ODD monitoring firms)

o Preparing presentations for internal and external meetings

o Supporting Operational Risk Management and Vendor/3rd Party Monitoring programs

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree

• 1-3 year of relevant work experience, prior legal and/or investment operations experience preferred

• Ability to independently manage projects (short-term and long-term) and meet deadlines under minimal supervision

• Microsoft Office proficiency

• Database knowledge and experience, Tamale preferred

• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills

• High attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills

• High degree of professionalism, discretion and integrity

• Ability to work on a team with other professionals

• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
