You will be a part of Cyber Security within the Technology and Operations Team, and support the business by developing and implementing best practice risk frameworks including policies, standards, processes and reporting that are appropriate to the market in which we operate in.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the management of security & technology risks within the Bank
  • Provide input to planning and delivery of non-negotiable security controls to all business units
  • Understanding of security controls in SDLC methodology
  • Oversee and/or assist in performing on-going security monitoring of TymeDigital information systems
  • Determine and develop process for collecting meaningful metrics and reporting to align with regulatory requirements and governance frameworks across the region
  • Working with the Digital Protection Group(DPG) to develop a common and consistent measurement of threat and risk
  • Work to identify treatments for control gaps and remedial actions related to cyber security incidents ensuring the adoption or development of relevant security services
  • Representative for local security governance structures and processes
  • Stay current with incident response, digital forensics methodology, the associated legal requirements and threats applicable to South Africa
  • Identify security controls required for new digital banking platforms, including block chain technology, mobile banking, and associated local regulatory requirements
  • Assist in security awareness initiatives
  • Plan for and support the establishment of new security services in-line with changing threat profiles and organisational context
  • Seeking to build in security during the development stages of software systems, networks and data centres
  • Looking for vulnerabilities and risks in hardware and software and constantly monitoring for attacks and intrusions

Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in driving results and co-ordinating activities to solve problems across multi-functional/diverse teams; and leading with high energy and a positive attitude
  • Strong relationship building skills and an entrepreneurial approach that leverages further opportunities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral and excellent relationship building skills
  • Strong orientation to driving strategy execution and delivery
  • Strong technical IT skills and knowledge including hardware, software and networks
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of IT systems
  • A forensic approach to challenges
  • A deep understanding of how hackers work and ability to keep up with the fast pace of change in the criminal cyber-underworld
  • Ability to seek out vulnerabilities in IT infrastructures
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline will be preferred
  • CISSP/CISM qualification desired but not imperative
