The Role S&P Global Mobility is looking for a full-time Research Analyst for its Automotive Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle team. The primary responsibilities include researching and analyzing European heavy commercial vehicle sales markets and representing this scope of knowledge to clients through written analytical reports; forecast datasets; in-person meetings; and special consulting projects.
Responsibilities • Researching and analyzing the assigned European commercial-vehicle sales markets and representing this scope of knowledge to clients in forecasts, custom reports and intelligence briefings. • Using specialized knowledge of the commercial-vehicle market in Europe to enrich the S&P Global automotive databases and cascade actionable information to other teams requiring commercial-vehicle analysis within S&P Global. • Understanding and applying S&P Global Mobility forecast methodologies; effectively utilizing S&P Global Mobility tools and data sources to form sound forecast conclusions; supporting forecast assumptions with clients in a constructive manner. • Ensure a holistic view of the region's commercial-vehicle industry by working closely with the team's commercial-vehicle production forecast analysts covering Europe. • Providing commentary with analysis and rationale supporting vehicle forecasting. • Networking with key contacts in the automotive market to validate data and exchange intelligence. • Ensuring that all services for which responsibility is held are produced and maintained at the highest quality levels and consistently delivered on a timely basis • Represent S&P Global Mobility externally, at conferences and other industry events.
What We're Looking For • A bachelors' degree, preferably in economics, statistics or business. • Prior experience, ideally a minimum of three years in automotive research or forecasting. This could be with manufacturers/OEMs, suppliers, consultancies or similar companies.
Other skills: • Fluency in English is required, strong verbal and written communication skills. Any further languages beneficial. • Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint. • Skill in Analysis and Data interpretation with attention to detail. • Strong presentations skills and comfortable in client interactions. • Team player. -----------------------------------------------------------
