Due to ongoing demand and request from our clients to provide integrated infrastructure advisory services including transport planning, policy, demand, and economics, we are currently looking for transport planner/ demand modeller to work in our Policy Program and Evaluation (PP&E) practice. There are multiple vacancies across Associate Director, Manager and Senior Consultant levels based out of our state of the art offices in Melbourne.

You will work alongside high-calibre professionals with public policy, service delivery, finance, economics, program management, program evaluation and risk management backgrounds. Our sector expertise extends across transport and infrastructure, justice, education, central agencies, human services and the broader public sector.

We are currently seeking to fill multiple roles across Associate Director, Manager and Senior Consultant levels with extensive experience in transport planning and demand forecasting and modelling to join our National practice. The projects we undertake include:
  • defining policy problems and providing practical, and strategic advice on options.
  • demand analysis, economic and financial analysis and business case preparation to support government and private sector investment decision making.
  • policy, project and program reviews and assessments, and advising on strategies to achieve policy objectives.
Your new role

In your new role, you will be engaged in nationally significant projects from across Australia. You will work on demanding but intellectually stimulating and challenging work using advanced methodologies and tools.

You will be responsible for:
  • Leading/managing multiple and concurrent engagements with our transport and planning clients, ensuring we provide high quality services and outcomes
  • Developing and fostering relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Working with teams and staff across different areas of KPMG to share your insights and expertise and collaborate to deliver high quality solutions to our clients
  • Applying innovative and creative techniques to solve complex problems on client engagements
Your activities may include the following types of engagements:
  • land use and transport demand analysis and modelling
  • integrated transport and land use planning and policy advice
  • developing business cases for detailed policy and projects
  • economic modelling and analysis; and
  • financial feasibility analysis.
You will bring to the role
  • A degree or higher qualifications in engineering, urban planning, mathematics or other fields as relevant.
  • Significant experience with industry-standard network planning and strategic demand modelling platforms such as CUBE/Voyager, EMME, Vissim, Visum, as well as exposure and interest in Activity Based Modelling, Land Use and Transport Interaction models and economic analysis.
  • A strong understanding of transport planning and modelling principles applied to strategic planning, public transport and transport network investigations.
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities and experience with GIS, mapping and other data analytics tools would be highly advantageous.
  • Ability to explain complex issues in easy to understand manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • An ability to develop and foster strategic relationships.
