Global Service Owner - Virtual Desktop

Our vision is to power the productivity of everyone in Macquarie by delivering a flawless technology experience, with the delivery of a global virtual desktop infrastructure a key part of our strategy.

In this director level role, you will lead a global team of multi-talented Horizon & Citrix engineers in running the Virtual Desktop products across Macquarie globally, with a focus on customer obsession. You will bring your technology leadership and virtual desktop experience to evolve the strategy, be accountable for the delivery of the strategic programs and the operational landscape, and work with stakeholders across the breadth of our business to deliver a flawless technology experience.

The key products covered by this team include our new Virtual Desktop Infrastructure platform (running VMware Horizon) which provides individual virtual desktops and published Application capability, as well as the older Citrix platform which we are in the process of exiting.

Managing this platform requires you to bring a mindset that is focused on our stakeholders, champions a delivery culture, can identify and implement automation opportunities, effectively manage risk, understands the importance of operational excellence, and a commercial focus.

Your key responsibilities will be to:
  • actively engage with stakeholders
  • champion the service to different business units
  • develop product and service roadmaps
  • deliver strategic roadmap projects and operational improvements
  • work with the extended Leadership team
  • drive proactive, automated and self-service platform systems management
  • manage the commercial aspects of the service (costs & recoveries)
  • proactively manage the risk landscape of the service
  • manage relationships with our Service Providers & Vendor partners
  • lead a high-performance global team, role modelling a customer obsessed culture.
