Senior Cloud Operations Consultant

At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we're building our team to help our enterprise customers plan, build and mature their ability to run 'Production Ready environments'. Senior Cloud Operations Consultants work with AWS customers and partners to ensure their Cloud Operations deliver the expected business value and operational capability.

We're looking for experienced:
• Cloud Architects wanting to learn best-practice in terms of AWS operating environments
• Service Delivery Managers and Consultants wanting to update their skillsets for the Public Cloud
• ITIL, SIAM and ITSM subject matter experts wanting to work on the largest and most prestigious AWS projects
• Cloud Transformation leaders wanting to go deep on Cloud Operating Models, operations capabilities and experience significant cloud migration projects

Responsibilities include:
• Expertise - Collaborate with AWS field sales, pre-sales, training and support teams to help partners and customers build 'production ready' on AWS
• Solutions - Define and deliver on-site Professional Services engagements with partners and customers
• Delivery - Engagements include short on-site projects to plan, build and mature AWS operations capabilities
• Insights - Work with AWS engineering and support teams to convey partner and customer needs and feedback as input to technology roadmaps
• Partnering - Work with new vendors to help them become MSPs and enable and upskill existing partners

Basic Qualifications
• Clear track record of communicating with senior IT leaders - CIO, CTO, CSO
• 5+ years' experience of working with enterprise production IT environments
• Understanding of enterprise IT Operational capabilities - examples include change, release, infrastructure management or applications management
• Track record of delivering enterprise IT outcomes as an individual contributor, with minimal supervision
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to be mobile and available for international assignments

Preferred Qualifications
An ideal candidate can lead discussions related to one of:
• IT Service Management tools such as ServiceNow, BMC Remedy or Cherwell
• IT delivery using ITIL or similar ITSM frameworks, particularly focused on Service Operations or Service Transition
• Enterprise IT Infrastructure Management
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically about the business, product, and technical challenges of operating enterprise production environments
• Familiarity with Application Delivery frameworks and approaches (COTS, Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, Waterfall)
• Experienced with the use of automation in the context of IT operations
• Experience working with or for IT Managed Service providers
Project experience with key technologies such as:
• Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, Google) or…
• Private Cloud / Virtualisation (VMWare, OpenStack, MS) or…
• SaaS (O365, SalesForce)
