To support the Director of Corporate Planning and Projects in facilitating overall business strategy development to support the NAGA Group’s business growth and ensuring that the portfolio of businesses of the Group enjoys optimum / highest level of returns.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The position will be required to undertake research to enhance industry knowledge and develop strategic insights to help Management understand the strategic implications of the business environment. The function is also required to perform competitor benchmarking to understand NAGA Group’s position vis-a-vis competitors to enhance Management’s worldview and understanding of business outlook and facilitate decision-making in positioning for strategic growth.
  • The position is also responsible to facilitate NAGA Group’s strategic planning process and ensure that agreed strategies are executed as well as tracked in the best manner to align with desired corporate objectives. In addition, the position may be required to undertake specific projects from time to time for business improvement and transformation.

General Job Funtion

  • Identify key sources of data and information for data collation, undertake analysis and develop insights as well as drawing out the strategic issues and implications of industry developments for enhancing the Group’s knowledge
    • Maintain and update Information in the collation of industry & customer  information;
    • Analyze data and produce insights on Industry trends, new market developments & innovations and competitor activities;
    • Produce reports to management and internal stakeholders on a regular and ad hoc basis
  • Assist the facilitation of the strategy making process and strategy workshops in order to enhance business position:
    • Identify and assess key market insights, issues, opportunities & threats
    • Develop SWOT for NAGA Group & key Competitors
    • Establish Strategic Direction for NAGA Group (Short, Medium & Long Term)
    • Facilitate strategic discussion and strategy formulation. Use tools/ methodologies such as scenario and portfolio planning.
    • Screen & analyze opportunities for organic and inorganic growth
    • Develop corporate and functional strategies designed to achieve commercial success, including new developments, business acquisition, strategic partnerships and customer retention.
    • Bridge the gap between strategy and execution by translating strategy into tangible and actionable targets that are linked to annual budgets / targets.
    • Develop corporate and divisional Balanced Scorecards to capture agreed goals and communicate and cascade to Business Units
  • Work with Business Intelligence and Analytics team to undertake forecasting and projections and scenario/economic modeling in order to enhance business analysis and facilitate strategy
  • Partner with the Commercial Business Units (Casino, Travel and Hotel) to identify and agree long and short-term organizational objectives (NAGA Group Corporate Strategic Priorities);
  • To manage and ensure that NAGA Group’s portfolio of businesses can enjoy highest level of return. Ensure the Group’s portfolio meets agreed objectives, the incumbent is required to secure, develop and to financially and strategically evaluate opportunities including corporate commercial projects and strategic initiatives such as new project developments, mergers, take-overs and joint ventures and corporate wide non-commercial initiatives
  • Assist the preparation of relevant reports and papers for submission to NAGA management and Board
  • Effectively network to maintain excellent relationships with relevant industry and subject matter experts for access to business information in a timely manner
  • Participate or support other corporate projects and initiatives as and when required
  • Undertake focus research on specific subject matter and provide analysis and insights as and when required by management

Support business units in terms of information requirement

Qualifications

  • Degrees in Economics, Business or Finance from a recognized institution
  • Min 5 years of relevant finance, commercial, research and strategic / corporate planning experience with some direct experience in the gaming or related industry function
  • Familiar with Corporate Planning process
  • Strategy tools and Performance Management tools (BSC)
  • Able to develop business case & financial modeling
  • Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the company to drive results, unify diverse interests and lead constructive dialogue with a team-oriented focus to obtain optimal results with uncompromising integrity and unwavering ethics
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and a heavy workload simultaneously and resolve issues effectively and efficiently
  • Excellent writing, oral communication and presentation skills essential
  • Detail oriented and attentive to precision, thoroughness and quality of work with the ability to work in a systematic and methodical manner to ensure that errors are minimized
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Proactive, results oriented, self-driven and able to take initiative in identifying and solving problems constructively
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate and interact comfortably at all levels within an organization
