We are working with a leading global bank that is looking to hire a Credit Analyst (3-7 years’ experience) to join their successful Credit Research team in Paris.

The selected candidate will be responsible for undertaking Credit Research covering a range of names within Transportation, Automotives and Logistics, with a primary focus on European (EUR) names. The role covers both IG and HY names and overall coverage universe will include around 10 names. Prior experience covering Automotives & Transportation is required for this role, however there is flexibility towards additional sub-sector coverage (Infrastructure, Motorways, Airports, Airlines etc.) which will also depend on prior experience.

In addition to researching & analysing individual names, the Credit Analyst will be responsible for writing and publishing thematic flagship research pieces both for internal and external clients, identifying overarching industry trends impacting the medium to long-term investment universe, as well as publishing shorter-term or ad hoc/opportunistic industry research papers.

There is a 50/50 split in this role between covering credit analysis on individual names and publishing research pieces, and a close working relationship with other teams within the firm across Sales & Trading, as well as DCM.

Experience and confidence in clearly articulating views on particular issuers within the sector and having conviction in those views is also strongly preferred.

In terms of background, our client is open to considering strong candidates from rating agencies, independent research providers, buy-side, as well as sell-side (provided Transportation as a sector has been covered).

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake credit research and analysis covering Automotive and Transportation and sub-sectors with primary coverage of issuers from the European Market
• Identifying overarching investment trends (eg. Evolution in car batteries, electric vehicle trends etc) and translating these into high caliber, in-depth, thematic & topical ad hoc flagship research pieces
• Focus will be strongly focused towards IG, as well as a few potential HY issuers 
• Utilise quantitative and qualitative framework to assess credit and fundamental metrics and provide a detailed understanding of all relevant indicators across the sector

Experience Required:

• Relevant Credit research analysis experience within Transportation, Automotive & Logistics is required, additional sub-sector coverage is strongly preferred
• Experience in writing in-depth analysis & research pieces and a track record of identifying relevant investment trends combined with the ability to communicate these with conviction both to internal and external clients
• Ability to write well, including strong grammar and attention to detail
• Must be comfortable working in a research-driven environment
• Relevant degree (economics, finance, accounting, or related discipline) or able to demonstrate a suitable depth of intellectual rigour and maturity
• Relevant buy-side or sell-side industry experience with specific evidence of Credit analysis covering Automotive, Logistics and Transportation) and/or investment ideas that have contributed to superior, risk-adjusted results.
