Assistant Vice President, Operational Risk Management

  • Implement the DBS' Operational Risk Management ("ORM") Framework, and drive the overall risk and control agenda and programmes within the Unit.
  • Attend periodic meetings of AMLOCs, and will work with unit's respective management in developing and maintaining unit specific AML / CFT procedures consistent with Group AML / CFT policies and procedures.
  • Participate, drive and/ or lead the relevant colleagues to implement the Unit ORM local/ regional programmes / review/ risk mitigation initiatives to all T&O locations, if applicable
  • Participate in various committees/ taskforce assigned by the management to drive for the predefined objectives, e.g. Fraud Committee, FATCA Committee, etc.
  • Raise operational risk awareness among departments and transfer/share skill-set on operational risk management, and coordinate/ deliver training efforts to promote risk management and compliance culture within T&O units
  • Build key relationships with the various T&O departments, work in partnership in identifying and developing solutions to address key operational risk areas
  • Forge effective engagement with key stakeholders with on risk management, control and governance matters


  • Degree holder or above in Accounting, Finance, Banking or Business-related disciplines
  • At least 10 years' relevant experience in banking and / or IT operations and practices
  • Preferably with exposure in risk management, operations control and/or audit in banks or financial institutions
  • Good knowledge and experience of T&O's business operations and processes.
  • Ability to provide balanced perspective between business expediency and risk & control.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and lead the relevant colleagues to implement the Unit ORM programmes.
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical mind and creative thinking
  • Result oriented and good problem-solving skills
  • Good report writing skills; excellent PC knowledge and skills
