Position Description

Director, Head of APAC Finance Control Group Team is under the organization with the Global Financial Control Group (GFC). This position will act as the central coordinator across the APAC Bank of America, N.A branches and report directly to APAC Regional Controller & Greater China CFO. The team will be responsible for our Data Management and Automation Projects, Legal Entity Strategy and Governance, Implementation across APAC of Global and Regional policies and procedures, Regional Projects and Initiatives, and Regional oversight and co-ordination of intercompany recharges and transfer pricing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the APAC Finance Control Group Team in APAC region.
  • Finance Control : Ensure implementation and adherence to Enterprise's Finance Control Policy including but not limited to Month End Closing Process, Balance Sheet Substantiation, Spreadsheet Control, Issue Management-tracking and monitoring, Data Management, Regulatory Reporting Accountability Policy, SOX coordination, present finance control matric of APAC entities to senior Finance management etc.
  • Quality Assurance : Regular quality assurance review of procedures and processes to ensure adequate finance control in place and implement enhancement consistently across APAC entities
  • Operational Risk Testing : Act as Point of Contact (PoC) for APAC entities in global/regional driven operational risk testing to ensure documentation is properly prepared and ready for testing.
  • Regional Legal Entity Controller Reporting : Monitoring month end closing process, representative of APAC controllers in global forums, regional reporting for legal entities to senior management in APAC, main PoC/coordinator of BANA/ML entities in APAC region.
  • Act as proxy for Regulatory Information Officer (RIO) for APAC region.
  • Transfer Pricing (TP)/Recharges : Act as PoC for APAC TP and coordinate with controllers, track and monitor common TP issues, oversee TP process for consistency and accuracy in booking and documentation, coordinate and support yearly TP documentation for audit purpose, implement entity Line Of Business profitability analysis and analysis of recharges to APAC entities.
  • Projects/Initiatives : representative of APAC controllers in regional/global projects initiated by cross functions, drive Finance initiated projects including implementation of accounting changes (e.g. IFRS9), regulatory reporting automation, legal entity rationalization, simplified/Improvement etc.

Key Requirements
  • Relevant Finance Controller background or internal financial control with at least 10 years of experience.
  • Preferably a qualified accountant.
  • Able to grab concepts and move things forward with limited guidance/supervision.
  • Experience in managing a team comprising of a few experienced team members.
  • Proactive, energetic and enthusiastic to make changes for the better.
  • Team work spirit.
