Executive Director - Application Development

 

Job Background/context:

  • Manage a large team of close to 100 staff in APAC region to overlook all of development architecture and delivery
  • Work with the regional technology teams, global tech teams across NAM, EMEA and APAC region (including Business interaction)
  • Work independently and be self-motivated
  • Act as the main point of for all application development road map for APAC region
  • Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex material from multiple sources

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Technical road map
  • Providing guidelines to the development team and ensure development governance is followed
  • Understand current state infrastructure, business flows and perform in-depth analysis to develop future state process flow
  • Facilitate meetings with the appropriate subject matter experts in both business and technology teams
  • Work with regional DEV/QA/UAT teams to support design, development and test execution
  • Utilizes standard processes, design and testing tools throughout project development life cycle
  • Work with the application development team to minimize post-production defects identifying defects as early as possible in the build & test stages of the release cycle

 

 

Qualifications:

 

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Strong banking knowledge on either fixed income or equities products necessary
  • Proven ability to manage multiple project deliveries across global team or vendor team
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain business partnerships and client relationships
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders globally
  • Experience leading teams of up to 100 people
  • Experience in working with remote teams (IT project managers, business, application development / testing teams) located in different geographical locations
  • Time management, prioritizing and multitasking skills
  • Analytical and detail-oriented
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Exposure to best practices such as CMMI for gathering and documenting complete and detailed requirements

 

Skills Required

  • 10+ years of experience in the financial services industry
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong team management skills for teams of 100+
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal courteously, professionally, and tactfully with multiple business groups within the organization
  • Ability to solve complex business problems and present recommendations to senior management effectively
  • Good planning, organizational, and decision-making skills
