The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm’s books and records, and by contributing to Firmwide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley’s various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley’s various businesses and its senior management team.

Global Funding Controllers (GFC) are responsible for controlling and providing business support for the funding arms of the Firm and is part of the ISG Finance organization. Within Asia Pacific, GFC comprises of the following core groups: Treasury Capital Markets (TCM) Controllers and Liquidity & Funding Controllers (LFC).

Given the increase focus on Liquidity and Funding, there is a need to enhance our reporting and analytics to support the business. This new role will cover both secured and unsecured funding analytics across the various markets within our Asia Pac Region.

Primary clients are Finance Senior Management, Corporate Treasury and the finance teams of the Business Units they fund (Institutional Securities Group and Investment Management). The role provides an excellent opportunity to get an appreciation of Morgan Stanley?s core businesses.

LFC was set up in Asia Pacific in May 2017. The team partners with Treasury to assess liquidity needs as regulatory changes affect our Asian entities and or jurisdictions.

Specific responsibilities include:

- Partner with Treasury and Liquidity Risk on analytics of our Asian entities CFP.

- A working knowledge of the global secured and unsecured funding P&L as well as balance sheet.

- Monitor and articulate the trends of both secured and unsecured funding P&L and balance sheet that has an impact to our Asia ISG and IM BU.

- Analyze and explain drivers to our Treasury P&L and balance sheet from a management and Asian legal entities perspective.

- Key point of contact for Asia Treasury, Asia BRM, GPC, LEC and other Finance teams requiring funding and liquidity information.

- Ad hoc management projects will be assigned.

This role provides an excellent opportunity for an individual to gain knowledge of secured and unsecured funding, liquidity framework and to build a strong network of contacts across GFC globally and across our Finance teams with Asia.



Qualifications:


- Qualified with relevant Professional Qualification (i.e. Accounting or CFA).

- High level knowledge of unsecured and secured funding balance sheet and cost attribution (preferred).

- Analytical mindset and good problem solving skills.

- Strong communicator with ability to interact with senior stakeholders or other teams globally.

- Strong organizational skills including the ability to co-ordinate, prioritize and manage multiple activities.

- Proactive self-starter, comfortable with working autonomously when necessary.

- Strong command of verbal and written English

- Strong Excel skills

- Ability to quickly learn Morgan Stanley specific applications
