Team: The Equity Finance business seeks to extend collaterized long financing and short sale facilitation to its customers. The desk manages firm’s credit and market risk exposures, cash liquidity profile, and management of financial resources as these are related to the facilitation of its clients’ business. Desk utilizes sophisticated risk management and trading systems, designs and creates analytical tools that help to facilitate its business efficiently.

This role is for an AVP Developer within the Prime Finance RAD team primarily working across multiple systems supporting the Equity Finance desk in the APAC region. This business is at the forefront of industry-leading innovative client-focused solutions using big data and financial modeling. As such the candidate will be required to convert evolving business and trade ideas into strategic solutions. The ideal candidate will have securities industry experience within IT infrastructure, worked in a fast pace iterative manner, worked closely with front office quantitative analytics and IT teams. The job entails putting together robust proof of concepts using Python, VBA, SQL, and Excel, which are further transformed into scalable strategic solutions using firm approved technological platforms such as Java and Angular

Key Responsibilities:

• Build strong partnerships with global stakeholders (includes traders, product management, middle office, and other stakeholders across all regions) to implement robust time to market solutions.
• Develop, implement, and enhance the front office pricing/analytics/risk systems as part of the global RAD team
• Analyse existing systems/processes and design new components to provide alternate solutions as well as providing recommendations of a chosen approach.
• The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, have a broad knowledge of financial instruments including financial asset pricing. They will have a robust IT implementation approach to building solutions for all end-users within Equity Finance.

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal & written English communication skills.
• Substantial experience in fundamental computer science knowledge (data structure, algorithms, best practices, etc.)
• Strong proficiency in Python; Javascript/Excel/VBA preferred but not required
• Substantial hands-on experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Experience in a Rapid Application Development environment
• Strong Financial industry Front Office IT experience (Buy or Sell-side)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable facing off directly to front office users.
• Sense of ownership and accountability and ability to work independently
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Math, Stats or related engineering field.

Desirable Skills/Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Prime Finance products and data flows would be a plus
• Exposure to the Data Science discipline
• Should be open and willing to learn new technologies
• Degrees in Finance, CFA, FRM or currently pursuing studies in these disciplines
