Position Overview

The role will be joining the Global Equity Derivatives Technology Team in a technical role working on the build of the Execution, Pricing and Request For Quotes (RFQ) platform for the Equity Derivatives business globally.

The GED Execution programs remit encompasses FIX Connectivity for clients, Order Management with the ability to slice, route and manage client order flow, Execution Management to handle Cross, Limit and Market order variants, Control and Limit Frameworks, Algo development and Hedging covering Cash and Futures Markets. In addition, the program delivers Principal trading Tools to the Risk Traders where integration with booking and pricing models is key to a full integrated end to end trading solution.

The GED Pricing and RFQ program remit encompasses Request For Quotes – internally (Sales to Traders) and externally (Tradeweb, RFQ-hub, client FIX, email, etc.) – pricing, price discovery (Cscreen, BrokerHub), trade capture, STP and MIS.

Role Description

This is a Graphical User Interface (GUI) application development role with a broad scope within the execution and pricing space covering all areas from pre-trade, price discovery, pricing, order management, trade capture. The role requires a combination of strong technical and problem solving skills and the ability to work across a multitude of groups to deliver on strategic agendas for our global business. The successful candidate will be facing off directly to the trading and sales desks as well as working closely with operations to deliver front to back & innovative solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

Application Development

  • Contribute to the platform Graphical User Interface redesign (HTML5, Angular/Node.js) and architecture choices and play an instrumental role in shaping the future of technology for the group
  • Collaborate with remote development teams to build a true global team for the platform
  • Working with users to define, build and implement bespoke UIs
  • Ability to conflate requirements to deliver consistent look and feel and behavior in UIs
  • Provide Level 3 support locally

  • Contribute to the work stream related to MIFID II regulations
  • Implement the components and functions required to be MIFID II compliant across all GED Execution and Pricing stack

Software Development Practices
  • Contribute to establish a robust and repeatable software development standards across the team
  • Participate to code reviews across all areas of the team to improve the quality of the delivered platform
  • Contribute to establish a culture of Test Driven Development

Experience / Requirements

  • Strong experience in Web Development (HTML5, Angular, Node.js)
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience of UI design for trading and pricing applications.
  • Integration with various market data sources for real time streaming of high volume feeds and building of limit order book views.
  • Focus on operational excellence.
  • Support continuous delivery through the Software Delivery Lifecycle: as required, define functional requirements, input to high level design of solution, specify technical solution and configure or write software.
  • Define and execute unit tests and construct software, perform integration and regression testing.
  • Global Delivery
  • Strong SCM and Continuous Integration experience
  • Strong Automated Unit testing experience / frameworks
  • Knowledgeable of options pricing & trading
  • Knowledge of European, US and/or Asia options markets
  • Ability to work collaboratively with trading desks to deliver the strategic end goals
  • Ability to understand trade off architectural demands
