We are looking for a Lead (or Senior) Java Engineer to work within the enterprise data group to work on the next-generation data platform. Examples of projects include building data platforms, data governance and enterprise data applications. This is a rare opportunity to work on a near-green field, a technology-driven project with the goal of delivering enterprise data platforms and innovative applications on top of it.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about leveraging cutting-edge big data technologies to resolve data problems. Domain knowledge of the financial industry is a plus, but it is not mandatory. He/she should work well in teams, as a contributor and/or leader. Communication and clarity are critical, as decisions made will have long-lasting and significant effects on critical global initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop enterprise data solutions to fulfill strategic/tactical business needs
• Analyze data models from different business streams.
• Resolve operational issues and implement preventative measures
• Report to the Head of Data Group

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience (6-10+ years) with Java and related technologies is a must.
• Excellent understanding of fundamental computer science concepts
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent team player and open to new ideas
• Enthusiastic, self-motivated and willing to learn and teach
• Knowledge of Linux as a deployment/production environment

Preferred Skills:

• Hands-on experience in building enterprise data applications
• Hands-on experience in big data development technologies such as Kudu/Impala/Flink/Cassandra/Spark
• Experience with data governance in the financial domain
• Familiarity with big data technology stacks
• Experience with a wide range of financial product
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Cloudera or similar
