Senior ESG Research Analyst

Company Description

Our client, a well-regarded international asset management company, is seeking a Senior ESG Research Analyst based in HK regional office. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Global ESG Team to assess ESG performance of companies in Asia with an emphasis on China market.

Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct research projects, such as relating to the development of ESG ratings, as well as thematic research for Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) investment in Asia
• Participate the development of the firm’s proprietary scoring system, e.g. the use of new data for specific markets / sectors
• Provide insights into ESG risks and opportunities, and forward looking views
• Support the Global Team on implementation of the firm’s broader global sustainability strategy including ESG integration on business conduct, stewardship, etc
• Contribute to product development for the firm’s environmentally-themed and socially-themed product range
• Support engagement activities, such as responsible business conduct policy / voting related engagements

Requirements

• Master degree or above in Finance / Economics or relevant discipline. CFA qualification is preferred
• At least 5 years of relevant experience investment analysis with minimum 2 years on ESG / sustainability research. Strong knowledge of and interest in sustainability or related topics
• Prior working experience with institutional asset owners / regulators will also be considered
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Mandarin
• Highly motivated, articulate and with strong market sense
• Strong team player, and strong stakeholder management skills
