We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Project Manager.

Principal responsibilities

  • Manage portfolio of workflow applications or enterprise communication management solutions holistically.
  • Manage multiple business including Global Operations, Retail Banking and Commercial banking, et cetera and work with them to understand their problem and derive strategic end to end solution.
  • Manage the full systems development lifecycle to ensure business requirements are met or exceeded, on time and within budget in line with business targets.
  • Define Critical Success Factors, Key Performance Indicators and other objectives that must be met by the projects.
  • Create project plans using Group standard tools.
  • Produce effective progress reports for assigned projects to keep management apprised of project status, major issues, scope changes, resource changes and milestone achievements or misses.
  • Chair regular project meetings and follow up on business, operational or technical issues to ensure clearance with minimal impact to project progress.
  • Ensure that problems are managed and escalated efficiently with the minimum disruption to the business.
  • Ensure accurate effort and expenditure figures are provided to IT Finance and Relationship Management, and ensure the Project Sponsor is informed of budget expenditure against expected expenditure.
  • Engage and manage relationships with third party suppliers, identifying and monitoring dependencies between internal and external provider.
  • Provide technical leadership for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of IT related projects.
  • Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which you are involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy.
  • Maintain HSBC Internal Control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
  • Be aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with your role and act in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations.

  • University degree in computer science, IT or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in dealing with business in agile or devops manner.
  • Proven experience in managing or coordinating system development projects.
  • Experience in delivering projects in one or more of the following domains an advantage, which are workflow, document imaging, outbound customer communications and document management.
  • Experience in Operations domain is an advantage.
  • Project Management Professional certification is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, presentation, project management and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple technical projects.
  • Able to work effectively with teams in multiple locations or countries.
  • Strong navigation skills and ability to understand business requirements.
  • Sensitive to numbers from a business perspective.
  • Strong self-motivation and sense of responsibility.
