JOB SUMMARY

The role is a Unique Asset Group Function whose responsibility is to support the various client facing groups of Fiduciary Trust Company International (“The Firm”). The Firm is a 100% owned subsidiary of Franklin Resources Inc. It provides Wealth Management, Custody and Trust services to High Net worth Clients. The job involves supporting the various Client facing functions of Fiduciary i.e. Investment Management, Wealth Advisory, Strategic Advisory Group, Relationship Management Group, Business Development, Custody, Taxation and Trust Group. Job would require an analytical mind, eye for details and solutions mindset.  Actively participate in and lead efforts to expand or strengthen the department’s capabilities and strictly adhere to the policies and procedures implemented for administering Unique Assets in an effort to mitigate risk for clients and The Firm. Ensure timely and accurate output and ongoing accounts compliance with respective investment guidelines, regulatory guidelines and Fiduciary’s internal controls. He/She will be responsible for compliance to the unique asset policies and procedures. Suggest process improvements and participate in their implementation. Additionally, the position will involve oversight of unique asset administration, the various forms of data maintenance specific to unique asset status tracking, correspondence, valuations, pricing, data repositories and other detailed analysis. As needs dictate, may be required to work long hours on special projects and assignments. He/She should be prepared to work night shifts.
 
JOB DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
 

  • Reporting, data maintenance and Subject Matter Expertise
  • Prepare Unique Asset reports for the different Client facing groups of Fiduciary
  • Develop and produce routine and non-routine reports of complex scope
  • Interpret reports, providing analytical commentary and recommendations for change
  • Act as business unit liaison with other business units
  • Administration of the department’s virtual communication and information repository
  • Track, establish ticklers, and send notifications to the Front Office regarding activities required for the accurate administration of Unique Assets, including but not limited to promissory notes, rental properties, closely held businesses, life insurance policies, tangible personal property, real estate holdings, etc.
  • Validate promissory note interest calculations
  • Validate the distribution and receipt of various Unique Asset payments
  • Create transactions to be routed to the Front Office for approval
  • Oversee and coordinate activities of the various Unique Asset Vendors
  • Create and send the annual Unique Asset valuation letters to Investment Advisers for Directed Trust Accounts
  • Prepare and maintain accurate Unique Asset Checklists
  • Preparation of reporting to Management and various committees

 
Research, recommend and implement workflow efficiencies:

  • Research and document complex business issues involving workflow procedures and processes as they relate to the many types of unique assets administered by Fiduciary
  • Gather comprehensive information to be used in problem identification and resolution
  • Analyze data and provide meaningful unique asset reports to internal stakeholders
  • Develop user test plans and testing to validate process enhancements and other business requirement documents and specifications
  • Develop new procedure documentation in support of new process, products or system enhancements
  • Coordinate recommended process changes and enhancements including test plans to ensure successful implementation
  • Discuss proposed system enhancements and modifications with information technology staff
  • Provide post-implementation support for all approved deliverable

 
QUALIFICATIONS
 
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • A college diploma or equivalent experience is required for this position
  • Financial Services experience preferred especially in Wealth Management, broking or Mutual Fund industry
  • 5-6 years of related experience

 
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in operations and MIS in a Wealth Management Firm would be an added advantage
  • 5-6 years of related experience

  • Good knowledge of business desktop applications (i.e.: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access & Project, Windows, Visio, etc.) required
