CHIEF FINANCE AND OPERATIONS OFFICER (M/F)

DO Recruitment Advisors is looking for a CHIEF FINANCE & OPERATIONS OFFICER (M/F)  on behalf of one of its clients, a leading and innovative Payment Service Provider.
This is an exceptional opportunity to join a developing, dynamic, and multi-functional business. The role holder will be hands-on, intuitive, energetic, and forward thinking. The Chief Finance & Operations Officer will have overall responsibility for the development, delivery, and performance of the overall Finance and Operations functions in a start-up environment. Working closely with the CEO and SLT you will be a key influencer to the strategic decision making.

THE JOB :
Job Duties and Responsibilities :
Financial Management - Establish the local finance department for Europe including accounting, financial control, capital management and tax functions
FP&A - Support and drive all FP&A activity across the region including forecasting, budgeting scenario planning and adhoc business modelling
Regulatory reporting - support and drive regulatory reporting to the CSSF
Operations Management - lead the Operations function with top quality Operations Plans and strong governance (policies, frameworks, registers, and procedures). Ensure KPI's and appropriate MI are in place to enable decision making. The COO will also lead and manage multiple cross functional and organisational projects
Treasury - manage the safeguarding and reconciliation of customer funds across all currencies and entities, processing payments and managing exceptions
Operations Compliance - the Operations function is the first line of defence in our risk management framework. The COO will ensure that all Operations functions are carried out in a manner compliant with the policies of the business with an evidence-based approach in place for ensuring AML legislative compliance
Service Management - proactive management of our service providers, issues, incidents, fraud, operational resilience, and BC/DR planning, always ensuring the effectiveness of critical controls and registers
Customer Success - delivering a compelling customer experience. Ensuring all communications are on-brand and to standard


THE CANDIDATE PROFILE :
• Highly experienced leading and scaling high growth within a financial technology company
• Proven ability to solve complex financial and operational issues by building simple processes
• Proven CSSF reporting.
• Familiar working with a CSSF regulated business
• Positive attitude: 'Can do' approach and willing to give everything a go from manual processing to larger projects
• Excellent organisation skills: ability to plan and organise work so that it is efficient and effective
• Ability and drive to identify and use modern (online) solutions to ensure a maximum degree of automation replacing manual human interaction wherever possible
• Experience with new territory expansion
• Experience with establishing corporate finance across multiple jurisdictions
• Good understanding of multi-jurisdictional finance compliance
• Must be a self-driven problem solver, with the ability to work towards achieving overarching commercial goals with minimal direction. They're looking for a doer, not a talker and above all else, they need a team player who wants to be part of a fast growing startup
• Proven track record of building successful Finance/Accounts frameworks from the ground up, ideally in current role
• Must have excellent communication and high-level presentation skills.
• Must be a logical thinker with the ability to challenge business models, strategies and the "status quo"
• Must be solutions orientated with the ability to turn problems into opportunities.
• Must have strong commercial acumen and well-developed financial awareness

Our client is a Fintech start-up company, with the backing of a successful international financial group.
