Rebates Senior Analyst Who we're looking for We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual who will report to the Revenue and Rebates Operations Team Leader within the Finance department.
The Rebates Senior Analyst must have a good knowledge of the global fund distribution ecosystem in particular fund platforms. This role is key in sustaining our service model for calculating, accounting and reporting rebates due to intermediaries investing in pooled funds domiciled in EMEA, APAC and the UK.
In the past 15 years, the Schroders Group Finance function has expanded the role of the Revenue and Rebates Operations team in Luxembourg, creating a global centre of competence for the processing and booking of fees earned from pooled funds, as well as rebates calculated and paid to intermediaries globally.

What you'll do - Staying informed with the global fund distribution ecosystem developments, in particular fund platforms (e.g., AFB, MFEX, etc.), and satisfy operational readiness internally
- Setting up and maintaining client and pooled funds structures including payment details
- Performing rebate calculations including manual rebate reconciliations between client own numbers and internal Schroders results
- Reviewing rebate agreements and intermediary payment instructions
- Assisting in the finance month-end closure process
- Performing monthly reconciliations between the rebates accrued and paid at a granular client level
- Answering internal/external queries arriving in the team's mailbox
- Providing analysis and informed commentary to various Finance teams and supporting other client facing teams
- Performing detective analytics on markets, clients and products
- Identifying areas for automation to mitigate any risks of errors
- Providing input for development and enhancement of systems operated by the team
- Providing informed statistics on volumes, complexity and effort in the rebates activities
- Maintaining accurate procedures whilst escalating any issues to the line manager
- Working across functions with finance, legal, product development, distribution, etc. and various business owners on a variety of initiatives
- Assisting in rolling out departmental initiatives and projects (streamlining processes, roll-out of systems, take-on of new locations, etc.)
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need - Bachelor degree in Economics or Finance
- At least 5 to 7 years of similar or relevant experience in Asset Management business is required
- Strong English, with at least one additional European language (e.g., French, German, etc.)
- Good knowledge of the global fund distribution ecosystem in particular fund platforms (e.g., AFB, MFEX, etc.)
- Good understanding of client, product and market characteristics involved in rebates due to intermediaries
- Excellent computer skills (advanced knowledge of MS Excel)
