JOB DESCRIPTION:
You will be working with all service lines in the region (Luxembourg and Continental Europe), advising the business on a broad range of legal matters covering corporate/commercial law and contract law, regulatory questions, HR, Procurement, Data Protection (GDPR), IP/IT (trademark and brand management) and litigation or complaints management;
You will liaise with country executives to ensure escalation of legal matters, assist with office set-up and management including office leases or insurance;
You will review, draft and update legal documentation such as standard services agreements, intra-group agreements, outsourcing agreements, suppliers agreements or general terms of business, whilst protecting the interests and mitigating the risk exposure of Alter Domus;
You will ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures and standards, especially Alter Domus’ standard contracting process;
You will assist the operations teams in Luxembourg and internationally with the negotiation of specialised services agreements (incl. AIFM, depositary services, corporate services, administration services);
You will support the Company Secretary in relation to Alter Domus’ corporate documentation and advise on legal or regulatory matters; and
You will contribute to knowledge management and participate in legal training is provided to local teams.
YOUR PROFILE:
University degree in law, completed by postgraduate studies in corporate law, commercial law or international law;
Strong knowledge and understanding of Luxembourg corporate and commercial law, and the Luxembourg regulatory environment (CSSF circulars in particular);
Minimum 5 years prior work experience as a lawyer (avocat) or in-house counsel in an international environment;
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English;
Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to develop relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation;
Hands-on project management experience, demonstrable organisational skills and ability to work effectively as a team member, to deadlines and under time pressure;
Keen to develop expertise in new technical areas to consistently high standards;
Exposure and experience with contract management software and tools would be an advantage; and
Fluent in both French and English; any other language would be an asset.
