SENIOR FUND CONTROLLER - REAL ESTATE (M/F)
THE ROLE:
As a Luxembourg based Director within a pan-European Fund Controlling team you will assume full responsibility of managing the entire financial reporting and cash management of one or several pan-European Real Estate Fund(s) as a Fund Controller. The Fund Controller is the key finance contact for the Portfolio Management team and other stakeholders. You will monitor, guide and control external service provider(s) in compliance with a vendor governance program. While the preparation of many of the below mentioned deliverables is outsourced to a great extent, responsibility for accurate and timely completion is retained. The Director reports to the Head of Fund Controlling in Luxembourg and responsibilities include:
Financial and regulatory reporting Ensuring timely and accurate production of quarterly and annual financial reports of funds and SPVs produced by third parties under IFRS or LUX GAAP (incl. consolidated reporting) for both open-end and closed-end fund structures and segregated mandates
Review and approval of fund and investor performance returns, unit/share prices and management fees
Preparation and/or review and approval of distribution forecasts and variance reports
Co-ordination and preparation of financial audits in conjunction with third parties
Preparation of Internal reporting (e.g. related to fund financials), review and approval of regulatory reporting and any investor specific requirements
Fund and SPV cash management Approval of invoices and authorization of payments
Transactional support in relation to acquisitions, dispositions and (re)financings especially with regards to operational aspects, deal structure setup and tax matters
Reviewing of financial/tax due diligence reports
Calculation and/or review of proforma NAVs and purchase price considerations based on deal transaction documents
Tax compliance and structuring (in collaboration with the fund tax function) Ensuring direct and indirect tax filings and tax obligations including FATCA/CRS are managed and reviewing returns from an operational Perspective (e.g. consistency of data to source)
Considering the adequacy of transfer pricing documentation and substance requirements
Collaboration and support Proactive management of external service providers, including negotiation and monitoring of operational memoranda and KPIs
Respond to ad hoc enquiries from internal and external stakeholders including investors
Adherence to and proactive engagement with the continuous improvement and development of efficient and effective controls and processes
THE CANDIDATE PROFILE:
Strong academic background: relevant degree level required, professional qualification in accounting is an advantage (e.g. ACCA or similar relevant qualification)
8 years relevant post-qualification work experience
Strong knowledge of Real Estate funds;
Expertise and technical knowledge of IFRS and LUX GAAP accounting including consolidations. In addition, expertise and technical knowledge of Italian and/or German GAAP is an advantage
Good Excel skills and competence with other Microsoft Office applications
Good commercial and negotiation skills / ability to impart know how and encourage others to find solutions on their own
