Temporary Senior Real Estate Fund Controller

12 months Temporary Contract

An position has arisen in our Private Assets Operations Department for a Real Estate Fund Controller to join the team to provide cover for a period of one year for a team member who will be leaving on maternity leave. This will provide an opportunity to work in a dynamic area for Schroders Investment Management based in Luxembourg. The main responsibilities include:

• Timely and accurate accounting, consolidation (using Yardi Voyager) and reporting for real estate investment structures in accordance with IFRS;
• Preparation of asset and fund level investment performance data;
• Supervision and oversight of accounting, administration and other services undertaken by third party accounting firms and property managers;
• Preparation and /or review of audited annual financial statements for real estate funds and investment structures;
• Liaison with external auditors, lawyers and tax advisors;
• Loan administration, including monitoring internal and external loans for real estate property companies, and maintenance of a dedicated treasury system;
• Cash management operations including creation and input of forecast data in cash management system and responsibility for cash positioning;
• Transaction support including set-up of investment structures in accordance with tax advice;
• Project assistance for new real estate fund launches;
• Technical accounting support;
• Ad-hoc projects and missions.


Education, qualifications and work experience:

• A degree in finance and accountancy and / or a professional accounting qualification;
• At least 5 years work experience gained in a real estate investment management or service provider specialising in real estate investment structures;
• Ability to demonstrate relevant accounting and technical experience and competencies;
• Familiarity and / or hands-on experience with Yardi Voyager would be an advantage.

Skills and core competencies:

• Strong technical background and a drive to remain up-to-date with real estate accounting and reporting developments
• Knowledge of investment appraisal technics and analytics would be an advantage;
• Excellent communication and analytical skills;
• Drive and determination;
• Excellent written and spoken English with fluency in German, French or Italian being an advantage.
