Manager, Analytics Infra & Technology Big Data Analyst

HLB is embarking on a comprehensive multi-year regional BIG DATA and Analytics transformational journey encompassing products, channels and services across the different markets. We are looking for people with previous decision science and credit analytics experience to lead different initiatives focused on improving decision management, risk analytics, and revenue enhancement across various consumer banking products.

You shall have experience in developing breakthrough Data Analytics Methods and Solutions using Big Data solutions to drive predictive analytics, statistical inference and machine learning applications as applied to quality and cost improvement. Build and support reusable data analysis structures within the big data environment. Strong understanding of the business and possess the technical know-how to create actionable and insightful analysis.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop predictive analytics, statistical inference & machine learning applications
• Work closely and collaborate with other technical and non-technical teams to facilitate data preparation and integration (structured & unstructured)
• Define and develop the program for data collection (include data clawing/scraping) database) and data modelling
• Leverage tools like R, PHP, Python, Hadoop & SQL to drive efficient analytics.
• Lead and support various ad hoc projects as needed related to big data innovation
• Work closely with other data analytics team in implementing and identifying potential new analytical opportunities (eg. new data sources)
• Analysis Presentation - Share analysis results/insights with business owners; recommending new/fresh perspectives
• Project Management - Work on resource management, scheduling, estimating/costing and risk management. This will include liaising with the vendors/contractors and ensuring timely delivery.


• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / Business IT or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the data analytics/data modelling
• Good knowledge of big data analytics and machine learning algorithms
• Good knowledge in language SQL, R, Python will be an advantage
• Good knowledge in data modelling / data mining techniques such as clustering, regression analysis, decision trees and support vector machines
• Strong analytical mindset, quantitative, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Organised self-starter, able to work with little supervision
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships
