Reporting, Data & Analytics (RDA) is looking for a data scientist to drive implementation of advanced analytics tooling in the Risk Reporting domain.

We are looking for a creative and curious Data Scientist, who is looking forward to bringing our global risk reporting environment to the next level. From your thorough understanding of the latest algorithms and tooling, you're able to see where ING can further improve using Big Data in the area of Risk. Your programming skills enable you to pilot/experiment new techniques and you are capable to support building business cases to senior management.

A successful candidate is proficient and has proven experience in usage of SAS/Matlab and open source software.

Job description
As a data scientist in our team you will have the opportunity to contribute to the innovation of the Global Risk Reporting landscape.
You will support:

  • the design and implementation of Advanced and Visual Analytics tooling;
  • the creation of global standardized reporting solutions and data marts;
  • global risk projects in the area of analytics and data management;
  • embedding new advanced techniques in the risk organisation through knowledge sharing;
  • innovative projects with other Data Scientists in ING.
In this role, you will work closely with Risk colleagues from Head Office and local business units.

Your work environment:
The Reporting, Data & Analytics (RDA) department is part of the ING Risk COO organisation providing reporting, analysis and data quality assurance & governance services to internal and external stakeholders.
RDA follows an agile way of working in which various value streams/squads have been defined. These are high performing, self-steering teams each with their own purpose. The current vacancy resides in the Analytics team.

You will be part of an international and enthusiastic team. Openness in communication and "can do" mentality are important characteristics of the department.

Who we are looking for (expertise)?
  • MSc with excellent academic results in the field of Computer Science/Machine Learning and/or Mathematics/Statistics;
  • 1-2 years of experience in a data/predictive analytics oriented function;
  • Practical project experience with the application of data science;
  • Experience with SAS is a pre;
  • Expertise in the field of risk is a pre;

  • Critical mind-set with respect to what is delivered;
  • Hands on mentality with regard to data;
  • Strong communicator;
  • Good team player, able to contribute in a multi-cultural team;

  • job grade 9-10 depending on experience
