Position Description
Background: The VMaster suite is a global trading system developed internally by Global Derivatives Technology and is used by the Global Rates and Currencies business. It provides trade capture and full life-cycle functionality for interest rate derivatives products to a diverse user-base including client services, finance, and middle office and trading. The system has been in production globally since 2001 and is the core system for interest rate derivatives at Bank of America / Merrill Lynch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Successful candidate would be working on regulatory as well business focused projects for APAC and Global Rates business
  • Successful candidate would be required to mentor junior members of the team based on individual project requirements
  • In the initial phase this candidate is expected to learn and build his/her knowledge of end to end trade flows and trade life cycle actions with respect to different interconnected software systems in Bank of America.
  • Candidate should apply this knowledge to translate business requirements to technical specifications.
  • Candidate is expected to be hands on with extracting data by building own SQLs, scanning data massaging scripts and sometime even reading complex code before reaching out to development teams.
  • Candidate might be required to perform hands on testing to validate business requirements in some cases as required by project.

Key Requirements
  • This role requires FICC product knowledge and business analysis experience
  • Previous experience of a front office environment is desired as the individual will be expected to face off to senior business executives across the trading, operations and COO organizations
  • Strong communications skills and excellent written language skills are a must
  • Experience working in a front office environment
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems
  • Business analysis / Project management experience
  • Technical background, experience (or willingness to learn and use) scripting languages like shell, Perl, python and SQL to solve business problems
  • Knowledge of derivative financial instruments is a plus
