Job Description
Position Objective:
Core AML, Infrastructure & Strategy is a regional function that sits within the Citi AML organization responsible for the program pillars that support Citi's AML lifecycle including policy, training, risk assessments, exam and audit management, issue management, governance, reporting and business management.  Directly reporting to the Director of Core AML, I&S, the role entails leadership of 2 teams comprised of 6 employees residing in Malaysia, the Philippines and Hong Kong responsible for regional activities related to exam and audit management, issue management, reporting and the regional AML Governance & Business Risk Committee secretariat. 
The role requires an individual with a proven track record in leadership, people and stakeholder management; have an ability to forward think; able to execute strategically and tactically; exhibit superior organizational and communication skills (written and oral); analytical and time management skills; ability to liaise effectively with senior management and junior stakeholders; must be willing to be flexible to assume responsibility for program pillars and/or contribute to program pillars not directly within overall responsibility, as required within Core AML, I&S.
Key Responsibilities:
  • The role is a leadership role working very closely with the Director or Core AML, Infrastructure & Strategy and the SVP of policy, training, and risk assessments.  Leading two geographical diverse teams, the role is responsible for supervising and execution of business as usual activities as listed below:
    • Act as a central point of coordination for the APAC region to provide support for country and regional AML teams in managing local and US regulatory examinations, internal audits and compliance assurance reviews.  This includes coordinating Regional SME support and ensuring requisite reviews from respective SMEs on all draft issues; centrally managing and tracking document requests;  managing internal/external communications and escalations; liaising with IA and other stakeholders on specific issues
    • Tracking and reporting of all AML Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) in APAC, providing regular management information and metrics, ensuring CAPs at risk are escalated appropriately
    • Providing leadership for the APAC AML Governance & Business Risk Committee Secretariat which is comprised of senior business and risk management leaders and responsible for the coordination of the bi-monthly meeting; proposing and preparing an agenda and papers/deck focused on significant AML issues and events; briefing the regional AML head and GBRC chairperson; taking of minutes; tracking of action items; and any other activities related to running of the GBRC
    • Oversight and governance for Country GBRC's including conducting quality assurance of country documentation
    • Collating, preparing and reporting routinely and on an adhoc basis management information reports, metrics, KPIs and presentation decks to/for regional and global stakeholders/teams
    • Ensuring many of the activities listed above as they apply to Global Consumer Banking (GCB) EMEA countries within the scope of the APAC region, are executed appropriately
    • The role will also entail contributing to the strategic direction of the program and department and will work very closely with other regional, country and global AML teams to further develop the program and look for opportunities for improvement and simplification in a high pressure and dynamic environment

Job Specification:
  • 12-15+ years' experience preferred in the financial services industry, preferably gained from AML, Compliance, Legal or Internal Audit, Operations roles
  • Understanding or risk management principles
  • Proven people management track record
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Highly organized
  • Strong drafting/editing skills
Highly desirable
  • Banking and finance experience, preferably gained from working in an Operational capacity and/or Compliance, Internal Audit or in-house Legal, Finance role
  • University degree
  • ACAMS an advantage
  • Competencies:
  • Excellent speaking, reading, and writing in English for coordination with Asia Pacific Region and global counterparts
