Description

  • Oversee creation and maintenance of the inventory of applicable laws and regulations in relevant jurisdictions, and advise on the appropriateness and health of related controls as documented in the Regulatory Controls Matrix
  • Develop and implement a documented, globally consistent compliance risk management program that meets the requirements of applicable law and regulation as well as Citi polices and standards
  • Set standards and compliance policy
  • Develop appropriate training and related requirments
  • Set compliance risk tolerances and associated performance  thresholds and monitor business adherence
  • Establish global insurance standards for ICRM monitoring and implement such monitoring
  • Establish appropriate oversight of complaint handling and trends
  • Develop and conduct risk assessments
  • Oversee and enforce application of third party on-boarding and oversight programs with respect to insurance providers
  • Provide advice, support and challenge to the global business head of insurance (located in NYC), regional insurance and other insurance executives as a management team
  • Direct and manage execution of the program at the country level, and manage on-the -ground ICRM resources as appropriate
  • Represent ICRM on Approval / Governance committees (e.g., BICs, Global IDPAC ) to provide credible challenge and (as applicable) approval
  • Engage with industry peers and regulators
  • Review monitoring and testing reports to identify themes, trends and potential issues and problems
  • Understand regulatory trends by monitoring regulatory changes, enforcement, exams and guidance to help the business avoid potential issues and concerns
  • Work effectively in environments to challenge the norms and status quo
  • Participate in creation and challenge sessions for the Insurance Management Control Assessment, helping to drive globally consistent control outcomes, oversee key regulatory changes and ensure the appropriate ICRM staff is engaged to provide credible challenge during implementation


Qualifications

  • A solid understanding of the insurance product and the sales processes within a banking environment
  • Deep familiarity with US bank  and insurance sales practice requirements and standards
  • Credibility as a subject matter expert and experience dealing with issues that have a high impact at all levels of the organization
  • A demonstrable knowledge of insurance sales processes across multiple countries and jurisdictions
  • An ability to be "hands on" and "in the trenches" with the direct team, while also bringing a sense of strategic vision and a global sensibility to the function
  • Ability to navigate and negotiate through conflicting demands to maintain focus on priority objectives while ensuring key stakeholders' needs are met
  • Strong team leadership, communication, interpersonal and management skills, with a track record of leading through change and the ability to effectively communicate the strategic vision to various stakeholder groups
  • Demonstrable experience in partnering with first and second line units to drive change and enforce standards
  • The ability to thrive and execute in a complex, highly matrixed, global environment
  • Bachelor's Degree highly preferred or relevant, equivalent experience
