Position Description
Background: We are currently seeking candidates to work in the Global Markets Back Office Technology group. The position will be in the Clearing, Collateral Management, and Margin Risk team developing applications to support the growing clearing and collateral management demands of our business partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary role will be as a developer working on BAML's GMI system,
  • Providing 3rd level support function to ensure system stability and prompt follow up on user queries (Working closely with dedicated Production Support team)
  • To Liaise and analyze business requirements from Back Office teams to translate to technical deliverables.
  • Being able to provide technical architecture input into technical design decisions.
  • Keeping up to date with technical as well as industry sector developments.
  • Working within agile development paradigm to ensure self-testing coding and scrum methodologies are followed.

Key Requirements
  • Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • The ability to work in a team focused environment contributing to a dynamic platform utilizing both agile and traditional waterfall methodologies. Any experience with test driven development, or behavior driven development is desirable.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment with changing priorities with the right attitude and constantly seek opportunities to improve processes and seek efficiencies
  • Good communication, written and presentation skills - also - strong team work, being organized and methodical will further enhance your credentials. Experience working directly with clients and being able to quickly understand and articulate their needs is preferred.
  • Possess strong analytical skills; the ability to assess business processes, their potential technology solutions and seek areas for improvement. An understanding of trade workflow and back office operations a plus.
  • Understanding of the derivatives industry with specific experience in Futures & Options is preferred.
  • Strong programming skills in CL, RPGIV and SQL based development including Embedded SQL and SQL PSM.
  • Hands-on programming experience of DB2 schema fundamentals, including triggers, referential integrity, stored procedures, UDFs, MQTs, etc.
  • Senior level troubleshooting, analytical and debugging skills necessary to analyze issues related to RPGLE, CLLE, SQL
  • Working knowledge of the MQ on the IBM iSeries platform
  • Knowledge of various performance optimization and design techniques for any or all: batch, interactive, client server
  • Understanding of database performance analysis and tuning in an IBM iSeries environment, create indexing strategies and periodically review indexes for tables
  • Good experience in iSeries Navigator, ALDON, WDSC knowledge required
