Brief Job Description

The Storage Administrator is responsible for management of all centralized storage technologies. This technology includes SAN and NAS environments, backup environments and all other technologies classified as a storage technology.
Storage Administrator assist in development and product engineering as it relates to these technologies, manage and maintain the company's storage-based systems and the deployment of these storage technologies.
Storage Administrator understand business objectives and seeking ways to help the company meet these goals with storage technology.

Your main responsibilities:

Storage Area Network:

  • Install, configure and administer SAN Switches
  • Create zoning
  • Define/remove hosts and disks from storage device
  • Proactive measures to ensure adequate storage capacity is available else initiate for enhancement.
  • Knowledges in Replication, clones and automation with scripts
  • Good knowledge with NAS Architecture
  • Install, configure and administer NAS Hardware
  • Perform daily monitoring and management of SAN and NAS solutions implemented

  • Install, configure and administer backup software
  • Install, configure and administer tape libraries
  • Supporting and troubleshooting backup, recovery and archiving in a large, complex and widely distributed environment
  • Perform daily monitoring and management of the backup solution implemented
  • Monitor backup jobs, execute restore jobs, troubleshoot failed jobs, and initiate corrective action.
  • Provide status and progress reports for backup environment related activities and tasks on regular/periodic basis.
  • Perform diagnosis, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of backup solutions currently installed
  • Maintain archives in accordance with policy and procedures defined
  • Create and update documentation for backup procedures.

Your Profile:
  • Experience with Brocade SAN switch and Hitachi Storage device are preferred
  • Experience with IBM Spectrum Protect is preferred
  • Experience with IBM Tape library is preferred
  • Experience with Netapp is preferred
