Pre-Sales Consultant

Position Overview:
At FIS we are looking for an experienced and motivated Pre-Sales Consultant who can successfully deliver key messages about the FIS APT portfolio risk and optimisation solutions set via presentation and product demonstrations.
The successful candidate will have strong quantitative skills, while providing business and technical expertise as well as becoming a market expert in order to understand the competitive offerings and their differentiators in the market.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform sales presentations and deliver solution demonstrations
  • Working closely with sales to provide risk management expertise as part of the sales process
  • Develop and maintain a strong product knowledge with respect to our services and the marketplace
  • Provide coverage at relevant trade forums and other customer events
  • Identify and qualify customers' business and functional requirements in order to obtain initial project estimates and identify solution gaps
  • Respond to RFI / RFP / queries in a timely and professional manner
  • Clearly articulate the benefits and value proposition of the APT solution set
  • Help build and maintain global Pre-Sales processes, supporting documentation and collateral
  • Help to develop new business opportunities across other FIS business segments
  • Be aware of industry trends, drivers and regulatory initiatives
  • Managing and building relationships with the APT client base as a technical account manager via regular onsite client visits in order to ensure client retention
  • Collaborating with internal functional teams to ensure that all client requests and queries relating to methodologies, analytics or solutions are managed appropriately
  • Proactively providing clients with best practices guidance on risk management
  • Developing and maintaining a strong product knowledge with respect to our services and the marketplace

Skills and Qualifications:
Essential:
  • At least 3 years' experience working within a software company as a Pre-Sales / Professional Services consultant in a relevant business area.
  • Strong knowledge of the asset management industry, ideally gained in the front or middle office. Awareness of the competitor investment risk systems would be desirable.
  • Understanding of the entire sales cycle, from market research through contract signing
  • Analytical and consultative approach to client engagements
  • Equally comfortable working independently or as part of a team
  • Outstanding presentation abilities

Quantitative and Financial Skills:
  • Excellent quantitative skills with a very strong grasp of global financial markets including pricing and modelling of different asset types, financial engineering concepts, financial risk management (portfolio theory, measures of risk, VaR), statistical techniques, options pricing theory, and securities valuation methodologies
  • Experience in a risk management or a quantitative function
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Understanding of risk regulation from an investment management perspective a plus

Soft Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate complex issues clearly
  • Excellent organisational, prioritisation and time management skills
  • Responsible & self-motivated: capable of self-managing and co-ordinating with colleagues
  • High degree of professionalism and business awareness: quickly able to understand the investment process and business issues presented by the client

IT Skills:
  • Familiarity with Excel VBA required
  • Familiarity with COM, SQL, XML and scripting languages a plus
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree required (minimum 2:1), ideally from a mathematical/finance/engineering background
