Business Function
Group Technology and Operations (T&O) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. In Group T&O, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.
Job Purpose
The position exists in Analytics platform- customer success management team. Lead role to manage Big Data initiatives solution and Analytics customer, BU/SU onboarding.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Understand our core business objectives and build end-to-end data centric solutions to address them
  • Collaborate with BU/SU, to understand business requirements, use cases, data, and work with them to build solution, and onboard them in Analytics platform
  • Work with framework team for automation of data ingestion, processing & security that caters to the Bank's standards and project requirements
  • Establish best practices and guidelines to be followed by BU/SU teams working on Analytics/Hadoop platform
  • Provide on-time solutions and design for initiatives and projects on Analytics/Hadoop platform
Responsibilities:
  • Translates data services and/or analytics needs into solutions that leverage the Analytics (Hadoop platform) and the applicable design patterns
  • Define technical scope and objectives through research and participation in Solutioning phase with project team
  • Adhere to all applicable Enterprise Data Platform development policies, procedures and standards
  • Provide educational/mentoring assistance to project teams and others
  • Collaborate closely with Platform and Engineering teams and assist engineers, when required, to ensure timely delivery of project deliverables
  • Rapid response and cross-functional work to deliver appropriate resolution of technical, procedural, and operational issues
  • Work with the team in an Agile/Kanban/Dev-Ops environment to ensure quality products are delivered
  • Assessing tool implementations and architectures in the analytics, DW & BI space, reviewing for gaps against business needs and industry best practices
  • Contributing to business process design and re-engineering impacted areas
  • Providing oversight to Analytics and data warehousing activities in the team to ensure alignment of priorities, coordination of inter-related projects and ensuring success stories are leveraged
  • Effectively communicating analyses, recommendations, status, and results to both business & technology leads
  • Leading proof of concepts to create break through solutions, performing exploratory and targeted data analyses to drive iterative learning's
Requirements:
  • 8+ years' experience customer management, architecting and integrating the Hadoop platform with traditional RDBMS data warehouses
  • At least 6 to 10 years of working experience, preferably in banking environments
  • Experience with Data Engineering or Big Data Technologies, or Data Transformation, and data modelling
  • Experience in architecting and building scalable data platforms
  • Experience with major Hadoop distributions like Cloudera (preferred), HortonWorks, MapR, BigInsights, Amazon EMR , or GCP is essential
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Thorough understanding of big data architectures including physical composition (e.g. network, storage, compute, and hardware) as well as distribution, partitioning, and parallelism
  • Thorough understanding of Data Warehousing architectures, techniques, and methodologies; including Star Schemas, Snowflake Schemas, Slowly Changing Dimensions, and Aggregation Techniques
  • In addition to years' experience, the senior role means an increased level of autonomy is expected. Expanded/multi-discipline skills are acquired and demonstrated and judgment and decision-making are more critical skills. One would be expected to handle more complex challenges, assignments, and initiatives
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools and platforms such as Tableau, Pentaho, Jaspersoft, Cognos, Business Objects, and Microstrategy
