VP/AVP, Business Finance, Global Markets

The role is part of the Global Markets (GM) Business Finance team with primary responsibility for providing performance management support to the GM business sub-desks/functions, namely Global Markets Structuring (GMS) and Business Management Support (BMS). In addition, this role will play an important part in ensuring the correct accounting rules are established for financial products in accordance with Group Accounting principles as part of the new product review program.

The role will report to the GM Business Finance team lead in charge of the consolidated GM management reporting and GMS.

Job responsibilities:

Global Markets Structuring
  • Ensure timely and accurate close for Global Market Structuring financials
  • Prepare monthly SAP and VBM adjustments
  • Prepare weekly income report for Global Markets Structuring
  • Prepare monthly financial performance and analysis for Global Markets Structuring
  • Participate in monthly forecast and annual budget exercise
  • Coordinate monthly Product Program Reviews for Group Global Markets
  • Work closely with Finance teams, Business teams, Operations and other stakeholders for new product rollout or product bundle
  • Support recurring review of existing Global Market product program and product bundle documents
  • Work closely with Business Units and Finance teams on projects and initiatives (e.g. Murex and VBM automation)
  • Participate in other related activities as required (e.g. advise accounting treatment for product configuration, advise accounting entries for operations, work with central bank reporting team for capital queries)

Business Management Support
  • Ensure timely and accurate close for Business Management Support financials
  • Prepare monthly SAP and VBM adjustments
  • Prepare monthly financial performance and analysis for Business Management Support
  • Participate in monthly forecast and annual budget exercise
  • Work closely with Business Units and Finance teams on projects and initiatives (e.g. cost management initiatives)
  • Participate in other related activities as required (e.g. advise accounting entries for operations, prepare budget transfer/supplementary budget form, assist in claims & memo, SLA payments)

Job requirements:
  • Degree or relevant professional qualification in accounting
  • Minimum 5 years of related working experience with accounting knowledge, especially around Financial Instruments and Treasury Product knowledge
  • VBM /Smartview, SQL and Basel knowledge would be added advantage
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Good team player, meticulous and able to work independently under pressure to produce accurate and timely work
