Opportunity to join FTSE listed investment manager in wide ranging external reporting role including taking responsibility for the production of their annual report to investors.

Maldon Partners are currently recruiting on behalf of a FTSE listed investment manager, our client is searching for a recently chartered accountant with approximately 2 years post qualification experience to join them in a broad external reporting role including being responsible for the production of their annual report.

Role responsibilities include:

Statutory reporting

  • Preparation of the Group’s interim and annual report and accounts prepared under IFRS, including planning and co-ordinating project deliverables from across the business
  • Liaising with third party designers and providers in the production of the report and accounts
  • Preparation of subsidiaries’ statutory financial statements prepared under IFRS
  • Preparation of papers for the Board and its sub-committees including results cover note, accounting judgements memo, going concern assessment and dividend proposal
  • Preparation of technical papers on the impact of new accounting standards, new accounting policies and company law developments
  • Primary point of contact for the external auditors and resolution of audit queries
  • Assist in reaching a consensus between Management and external auditors on accounting treatments and areas of judgement
  • Ensure all statutory reporting is in line with industry peers and best practice developments
  • Ensure the investor relations pages on the Group’s website are kept updated with the latest published information



  • Preparation of interim and year-end current and deferred tax provision workings for all Group entities
  • Collation and provision of information and subsequent review and sign-off of the tax computations and returns prepared by a third party provider
  • Preparation of Corporation tax and VAT payments on account
  • Preparation of the Group’s quarterly VAT returns
  • Initial point of contact for internal tax and VAT queries
  • Liaising with HMRC on VAT queries or voluntary declarations
  • Preparation and submission of withholding tax claims in respect of overseas income
  • Liaising with the Group’s tax advisers on arising tax matters
  • Attending quarterly tax advisers’ meetings and other relevant seminars to keep aware of latest legislative and industry developments and the impact on the Group

Regulatory reporting

  • Regular internal monitoring of Group’s capital adequacy and liquidity position
  • Preparation of the Group’s COREP and FSA returns prepared under CRDIV and IFPRU for submission to FCA
  • Assist in the preparation of the ICAAP and other regulatory deliverables
  • Collation of information to address ad hoc FCA requests or queries arising from SREP visits
  • Working with third provider to ensure the regulatory reporting software is configured correctly
  • Keeping up to date with regulatory publications and articulating changes impacting the Group.

Ideally applicants will be two years post qualified (ACA) with experience of working in a financial services firm producing financial accounts with some exposure to regulatory reporting. Other profiles that will be considered would be ACA's with financial services audit experience who are still in practice or financial accountants (ACA) who are working in commerce and industry but working for firms that are listed.
