Job Description:

  • Offer dedicated support to the in-house legal department, providing legal advice in relation to the UK operations as well as Alter Domus’ international offices;
  • Operate as primary point of contact for the business to assist and advise on matters concerning contract, corporate and commercial law;
  • Support to Group in-house legal:
    • drafting and updating legal documentation, including template service agreements, intra-group agreements, joint-venture and outsourcing agreement and other types of commercial contracts;
    • management of legal risk and monitoring or advising on legislative and regulatory changes affecting the business’ service offering;
    • ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures and standards as well as Alter Domus’ standard contracting process;
    • assist with minor complaints and dispute resolution management;
    • contribute to knowledge management, training and legal updates;
  • Drafting, reviewing and assisting with negotiation of a broad range of specialised services agreements;
  • Advising on legal aspects of client transactions and assist with understanding legal risk;
  • Providing corporate support:
    • company formation, e.g. holding, financial and real estate companies;
    • company administration and meetings; drafting or negotiation of various corporate documentation;
    • corporate governance;
    • assist with formal responses to client queries in support of operational teams; and
    • advise operational teams on the legal consequences of corporate and commercial documents.

Your Profile:

  • Relevant post-qualification experience in a leading City law firm; previous in-house experience would be an advantage.
  • Strong background in corporate and commercial law;
  • Excellent verbal communication and drafting skills;
  • Excellent legal risk awareness and ability to work collaboratively with the business to deliver pragmatic outcome-focussed solutions to legal issues, without compromising on Alter Domus’ policies, protection and values;
  • Ability to represent views clearly and succinctly, and to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation;
  • Willingness and ability to develop expertise in new technical areas to consistently high standards;
  • Experience in any of the following areas would be beneficial, but is not essential: M&A, data protection and financial crime;
  • Working knowledge of French would be an asset.
