Junior COO – Expanding Hedge Fund – 50-60k base + bonus – Excellent work life balance
Lieu de travail : Londres, Angleterre, Royaume-Uni
Salaire : negotiable
A hedge fund, with some of the best yearly % returns recently seen in the London space, are looking to make a key hire as part of their expansion plans.
The hire is being made as the COO’s ‘number 2’. We are not looking for a pure operations specialist (as that is actually a small part of the role), but instead ‘an all-rounder’ to support the COO who at this moment in time covers everything on non-investment. With this in mind you will be well trained to be heavily involved in marketing support, risk management, compliance and trade execution. You will also have an opportunity to be client facing (for example chasing clients on urgent matters, getting involved in the asset raising process by following up with the potential client etc.). You will own the Operations/Trader Assistant remit, however as all operations & MO are outsourced your duties are more to provide oversight and policing of what is being done externally (rather than doing the hands on work yourself). TA work is purely focused on the investment desk/CIO’s ongoing requirements. We feel that this is the perfect role for a budding COO - Internally the role can officially grow in to a ‘Deputy COO’ position, but the hiring manager is keen to point out that they wouldn’t necessarily pigeon hole the hire in to that career path given that multiple hires will come up over the next 2-3 years in to other areas of the business. You can expect a very good work life balance (530/6pm finish every day) and company culture.
We are happy to look at IB Trade Support candidates looking to break in to the Hedge Fund space for the first time, or current Hedge Fund Operations Analyst’s with circa 3-5yrs experience that are looking for a broader role away from line operations. We are open to product background. You should be a good listener, but also a self-starter that is happy to work facing off to a demanding investment desk.
The role is unlikely to offer more than a 60k base salary. Assuming that the fund continue its incredible recent performance, bonus expectations can be 50%+ for a star performer.
