Lead Software Developer Architect

Ever-increasing regulations require tax departments to gather, organize and analyse more data than ever before. Effectively and efficiently handling the variety and volume of data is often extremely challenging and time consuming for a company. Our approach is to work side-by-side with the firm's partners, clients and tax subject matter experts to develop solutions that link to a platform to improve efficiency and enable our clients to make accurate decisions.

What you will do:

  • Establish the underlying architecture, tools & frameworks, product release cycle and deployment methodology
  • Bring architectural expertise and direction for the development, design and integration of applications linked to the platform
  • Work from inception through to implementation and support to ensure best practice is followed across the overall architecture
  • Influence the architecture/development of an API-driven cloud based platform that is resilient, highly scalable and allows for applications to be deployed independently
  • Continuously research, evaluate and present new technology services and solutions that fit the business requirements
  • Produce and maintain roadmaps, as well as architecture designs of the growing technology portfolio
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to find a pragmatic approach to the rapid delivery of prototypes
  • Package approved prototypes (Requirements, Data, Tests, Code) for integration by the productionisation team

You are:

  • Curious - you like to understand why things are done the way they are, and how they could be continuously improved
  • Collaborative - you work well with others to develop a stronger outcome than achieved individually. You seize learning and knowledge sharing opportunities
  • Empathetic - you take the time to understand what drives other team members, what motivates them and how to achieve mutual objectives
  • Humble - you actively seek feedback, and feel comfortable providing it to others. You are not overly influenced by organisational hierarchy
  • Reflective - you are comfortable re-evaluating your view when presented with contrasting facts and your opinions
  • Energetic - you are excited by what you do and you bring an enthusiasm to your job
  • Agile - you are passionate, spirited, live and breathe agile and firmly believe in creating clean and testable code

What you definitely need:

We expect our teams to be agile in the technology they use, therefore, we are not prescriptive about the technologies you have experience using, as long you as you are eager to use the best available technology for the project and open to working with new tools and approaches.
