Product Manager - Platform Services, Database Services

The Platform Services Database team is looking for a product manager to develop and manage the evolution of the product across multiple dimensions (e.g., cost, feature & functionality, operational quality, risk), working with key internal and external stakeholders.

Global Technology Infrastructure - Platform Services delivers a wide range of products and services, partnering with all lines of business to provide high quality service delivery, exceptional project execution and financially disciplined approaches and processes in the most cost effective manner.

The objective of Cloud Services is the delivery of private, public, and containerized cloud solutions, products, and services. GTI Platform Services is designed to address the modernization of our software delivery, address the needs of specific lines of business and the demand to leverage economies of scale across the firm.

Database Services is a team responsible for the architecture, design, and implementation of new, cutting edge database services on the private and public cloud platforms. These services will allow JPMC development teams to transform our business applications into scalable, elastic systems that can be instantiated on demand.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identifies market need, interfacing with customers as needed to define the scope and position of the product
  • Conducts make vs. buy analysis to determine approach to fulfill market need
  • Owns the product vision and strategy
  • Creates and maintains the product roadmap with the Product Lead
  • Creates and maintains the product's definition, inclusive of customer-facing SLO/SLAs.
  • Manages the product cost, investment and business case requests, and overall benefit realization
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for all aspects of the products related to stakeholders, partners and customers.
  • Works with product marketing to drive awareness and adoption of the product
Preferred skill sets
  • Knowledge of product management techniques (e.g., product roadmapping, feature matrix)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, and emerging technologies
  • Strong knowledge of product strategy development
  • Understanding of financial and accounting management, such as investment processes, business case development, cost and recovery models
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate concepts to a senior management and customers
Experience
  • Experience in product management focused on technology products is an advantage
  • Experience of leadership and/or management, ideally in a global organization
  • Proven experience of building strong, cohesive partnerships with the business, operations, technology and other key stakeholders
Education requirements
  • Technical degree (e.g., computer science, engineering) or equivalent
  • Business degree (e.g., MBA) or equivalent experience.
