Finance Project Manager role is within the team that supports bank-wide projects including implementation of regulatory requirements (IFRS9, MIFID II), System & portfolio migrations and implementation of new products/ businesses onto Financial platforms.

A major bank based in London.

Description

The London Finance team is responsible for all aspects of Financial Accounting and Reporting within the banks London Branch.

Within this wider team, a project team works on the accounting and control aspects of the projects within Finance. The opportunity has arisen for a permanent position which will allow the team to meet increasing project work.

Finance Project Manager Key responsibilities:

  • Analyse user requirements and business processes
  • Interpretation of accounting policy guidance
  • Define operational accounting schema throughout product lifecycle
  • Communicate with Finance (Accounting, Control and Reporting) teams to define solution to meet the various requirements
  • Liaise with Finance Systems and Business areas to resolve outstanding issues
  • Define and document the FX Management, Funding and P&L Selldown process for each project
  • Prepare and complete detailed User Acceptance Testing; including preparation of expected results
  • Prepare detailed migration strategy and conversion plans; with detailed coverage of all intercompany aspects
  • Perform migration rehearsals
  • Support the implementation of each project
  • Provide support post go-live for agreed issues and duration as determined by management
  • Close each project with clear documentation, including matters that need to be taken forward
  • Define the Accounting control infrastructure
  • Develop and maintain knowledge pool of Financial Accounting/platform expertise for Finance

Profile

Finance Project Manager experience and skills:

  • Solid experience gained in an Investment Bank in either a production or project role within a Financial Accounting / Reporting function
  • Managing multi stakeholder projects and knowledge of project management skills
  • Understanding of accounting schemas and implementation of new products / feeds onto a financial platform
  • Experience working with accounting of complex banking financial products.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and successful implementation of business accounting solution for Financial Services
  • Qualified Accountant
  • Banking products knowledge with a sound understanding of the accounting impact
  • Excellent report writing skills including the ability to explain technical concepts and issues to a wider audience
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office)
  • First class communication and interpersonal skills in addition to the ability to interact with all levels of staff and cultures, including senior members in the Finance department and other areas of the Bank;
