Relationship Manager, Financial Institutions, Leading Bank in London

My client, a leading bank in London, are looking for a motivated Relationship Manager to look after a portfolio of Financial Services clients, and also gain exposure to Corporates within a particular sector. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team, in a top bank, offering a clear progression path. As Relationship Manager you will be working alongside a Relationship Director identifying customers’ business needs before marketing and presenting a range of solutions including banking services and financing. If successful in this role, there is the opportunity to step up to a Relationship Director position within 12-18 months.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Help build and maintain a portfolio of Financial Services clients, and also gain exposure to Corporate accounts
  • Originate new customer relationships as well as maintain current relationships
  • Identify and manage business development opportunities
  • Prepare for, participate in and contribute to reviews and development with your line manager 
  • Raise the profile of the banks brand through positive networking
  • Achieve high quality credit applications and uphold a high standard of data quality for application and account submissions
  • Ensure the effective delivery of the Banks products and services, developing high levels of cross-sell

Experience required:

  • Minimum experience of 2-3 years as a Relationship Manager within another commercial bank
  • Experience working in a Financial Institutions team, looking after FI’s or NBFI’s
  • Proven business and product knowledge
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proven experience in Business Development
  • Strong credit skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Great team player, ability to influence
