We are looking for a Structured Finance specialist to join the Insurance Sector Finance team. Insurance Sector Finance is a unit within the ING Wholesale Banking that specialises in providing structured finance solutions to the global insurance industry. The successful candidate will be part of a team working with the deal principals in originating, analysing and closing new transactions and on-going monitoring of existing transactions within the portfolio.

This is a demanding and exciting role, we are looking for highly motivated candidates with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in insurance credit analysis within a bank or with relevant industry work experience. The successful candidate will work with the Deal principals, helping to identify and structure new transactions and performing sound credit analysis on a range of life and non-life insurance transactions. Cash-flow modelling skills would be considered necessary for this role.


Role Description

  • Structuring new, and  analysing market originated, insurance transactions
  • Preparation of life and non-life insurance credit analysis
  • Completion and monitoring of internal risk ratings on insurance clients
  • Spread-sheet input, financial analysis and modelling
  • Research and market analysis
  • Documentation
  • Support Deal Principal in all aspects of transaction/relationship management


Key skills required

  • Insurance credit analysis or Actuarial analytical skills
  • Experience in complex Structured Finance transactions within the insurance sector
  • Cash-flow analysis/ modelling, hedging and distribution of risk
  • Deal structuring documentation and client negotiations
  • Pricing and due diligence  
  • Highly numerate and analytical with advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Team player as well as confidence for independent work




  • University graduate in a numbers related, economics, scientific or relevant degree
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Structured Finance and good knowledge of the Insurance Sector or Insurance Sector Financing
  • Strong modelling skills


  • Ability to build models from scratch
  • LBO modelling skills
  • Life insurance experience
  • Actuarial or CFA qualifications at any level


SALARY OFFERED:            £85,000-£120,000
