My client, a bulge bracket Investment Bank seeks a number of Finance focussed Project Managers for several key initiatives banded under a large, multi-year change the bank / transformation workstream.
Key Skills
- Strong Finance PMs/PMOs with good Banking Finance business process knowledge
- Proven experience in delivering and supporting Finance transformation project activities within Financial Services for > 5 years
- Able to deal with senior stakeholders
- Prince 2 or similar project management skills
- Understands and is able to deliver projects in an agile manner
- Very good communication skills
- Works in structured manner, good planning skills, good orchestration capabilities and good team worker
- Able to present project updates on progress, status, risks and issues in senior forums
- Able to manage risks and issues and plan appropriate mitigating actions to minimise impact to plan
- Able to present topics for decision in clear, concise and digestible format for senior stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient decision making
- Operates in an agile manner delivering value early
- Educated to Degree or Masters level
Can demonstrate experience of delivering change in the following areas (or similar finance transformation):
- Drive forward-looking processes including forecasts, strategic/operating plans, monthly outlooks, and results reviews
- Help drive the optimization and integration of all forecasting processes across CCAR/capital planning, strategic planning, business/operating planning and outlook processes
- In partnership with corporate, business and regional planning teams, clearly define use case requirements and planning segmentation rationale across all forecasting processes for multiple Institutional products
- Improve the accuracy, agility and control of forecasting processes by optimizing the model forecast library for all businesses/geographies
- Work closely with the broader Finance Transformation team to detail end state design implications and enhancement approach
- Identify and incorporate key data and operational dependences across Finance, Risk and Business workstreams
- Drive convergence and standardization of forecasting tools, including implementation of a Common Model Framework
- Support implementation of firmwide planning infrastructure transformation, in close coordination with Corporate FP&A
- Ensure consistency of approach and implementation of forecasting enhancements across markets and product groups
- Drive automation and digital visualization tools to improve speed to insight
- Help in the establishment of enhanced planning and process governance
- Standardize and document target processes across use cases
- Work closely with Risk Management to ensure optimised model validation processes
- Ensure processes are consistent with organisations Risk Governance Framework
- Assist with the delivery of processes harmonization and improvement across the organisation, in areas such as:
- Analysis, preparation and reporting of financial performance for internal management on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis.
- Preparation of periodic reporting and analysis for clients
- Maintenance of forecast models with a focus on sustainable maintenance and improvements
- Preparation of necessary supporting materials for critical presentations, including analytics on portfolio trends, balance performance, etc
- Analysis and reporting on business products to understand key product performance and associated risks and opportunities
- Preparation of ad hoc portfolio analysis as required
Additional skills for Senior Roles:
- Expected > 10 years experience in Financial Services, mostly in a Finance Transformation role
- Directly oversee team members locally and remotely, mentor and develop team members and partner with other teams locally and across the globe; requiring ability to effectively communicate across all levels
- Opportunity to interact with senior management (within finance and the business), which requires excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
- Drive and support re-engineering and redesign of existing processes and systems which will be part of the overall Transformation efforts
- Track key performance metrics in the achievement of key milestones and deliverables for transparency and accountability
- Escalate key transformation execution risks and help identify and take mitigating actions
- Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision
- Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy
- Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members
