Our client is a European Asset Management company looking to expand their quantitative presence in London. They have recenelty established a small group here and they are looking to capitalise on their success and expand.
The group has been trading live for just over a year and have established themselves within the market as a successful quantitatively driven group in the multi-asset space. They place a strong emphasis on robust macro research and are running systematic strategies which take short/mid-term approach.
The group is looking to hire a quantitative researcher/strategist. The primary responsibility of this role is to research new avenues of alpha: by taking a macro outlook, applying quantitative techniques to produce systematic strategies.
Candidates will therefore need to be able to demonstrate a background in researching and implementing innovative trading ideas from the cradle to the grave. As a multi-asset group, they are keen to speak with individuals who have had exposure to more than one asset class.
The candidate will be in a position to research and implement their own strategies within the framework of the group and as such will be bringing a new dimension to the desk. It is imperative that you can demonstrate a history of innovotive idea generaton. This position will give you the independence to explore those ideas further. The group members come from a range of research backgrounds including, finance, economics, engineering, mathematics etc. The group takes a collaborative approach, where there a focus on exchanging ideas, developing innovative strategies and working towards one common goal.
The fund is extremely well positioned in terms of capital and as such the group are looking to produce scalable strategies that lie within the risk framework of the fund.
Required skills / experience
Strong preference for a first degree in Economics / Finance followed by additional quantiatative education (Masters/PhD)
Strong programming skills in Python
Excellent communication skills: you will be expected to articulate your ideas and knowledge to others with differing backgrounds and specializations
