My client is a multi-billion, tech-driven quant hedge fund looking to build out their Fixed Income team which is one of the most successful units within the business. You will be joining the Fixed Income/Rates Software Engineering team which is solely responsible for the development of the Trading and Risk systems, integrating models/analytics, market data, scenarios and trades/positions into this system.

You will be joining the Fixed Income/Rates Software Engineering team which is solely responsible for the development of the Trading and Risk systems, integrating models/analytics, market data, scenarios and trades/positions into this system.

 

You will be focussing primarily on the Core Technology that supports the Fixed Income and Macro Strategies codebases, which are relatively Greenfield teams. You will get the opportunity to join a team of well-seasoned Developers and work very closely with the business to leverage your current skills and enhance your financial knowledge. There is very strong learning potential on offer, along with fantastic compensation packages and the chance to take ownership for the work you do and make your mark within the business.  

 

 

The Role

 

You will be:

 

  • Building and maintaining real-time trading and risk management systems for proprietary trading within Fixed Income
  • Working closely with Senior Portfolio Managers and traders to build strategies and tools
  • Developing core analytics for proprietary trading
  • Developing Quant Portfolio Analytics – including Portfolio Risk and stress testing scenarios

 

 

Skills/Qualifications

 

  • Technical education should include an Undergraduate or Advanced Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) Degree.
  • Experience with C++ on Windows or Linux platform
  • Solid programming experience with a scripting language, preferably Python
  • Solid mathematical foundation, with a demonstrable interest in financial topics and a clear desire and motivation to learn more (i.e. CFA qualification or similar)
  • Highly motivated to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
