Business Unit Overview:

Consisting of Product Strategy, Product Development, Product Structuring and Investment oversight, Strategic Product Management (SPM) enables BlackRock to achieve its growth objectives by leading product strategy (across the existing platform and new products) to meet current and future client needs. This is a central, global, corporate function of approx. 80 people with approx. 50 located in EMEA.
 
 
Job Purpose/Background:
 
The Business Analyst will report to the COO of SPM, EMEA.
 
The purpose of the role will be to act as a Business Analyst for the COO of a growing team. You will work on and sometimes lead a variety of projects including reviews of our processes, analytics, risk, governance, economic models, and business analytics & reporting. You will also be involved in select regional projects (EMEA specific).
 
You will have the opportunity to work in a fast paced environment and in a group that is involved in some of the most pressing and impactful challenges facing the firm and industry.
 
 
Key Responsibilities:


  • Support COO and Regional Head of SPM to product business reporting and identify appropriate performance benchmarks.


  • Work with COO, Regional Head of SPM and other members of the SPM team to evaluate team processes and drive ongoing improvements.


  • Supporting SPM’s response to certain regional projects and ad-hoc assignments


  • Develop analytics and frameworks to support strategic direction of group


  • Develop analytics and frameworks to assess industry, pricing and new product trends


  • Support the evolution of product platform anniversary reviews (assess and strengthen current processes. Consider creation of platform level snapshots and dynamic monitoring versus commercial and performance goals. Consider whether we can better learn from successes and failures to improve decisions)


  • Work to enhance the product economics model


  • Create executive level presentations


  • Support business management (e.g. headcount & cost management related activities)


  • Create, document and implement training on new global policies, processes and procedures
 
Knowledge / Experience:

  • Experience in financial services or consultancy and a thorough understanding of the asset management ecosystem


  • Strong analytical capability


  • Excellent creative, organizational and problem solving skills.


  • Ability to analyze large quantities of data to create useful information


  • Highly computer literate with strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills


  • Exceptional attention to detail


  • Highly proactive, willing to take ownership of issues and follow through to resolution


  • Self-starter capable of working independently as well as an effective team player
