We are looking for an experienced client relationship and /or investor relations professional to join our senior management team in the position of Head of Client Services and Stakeholder Relations. Based in the Midlands (Wolverhampton or Matlock), the successful candidate will work with the Chief Operating and Financial Officer (COFO), the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and Investment Directors, and the key representatives in our partner funds, to build a professional and responsive client services and stakeholder relations team.

LGPS Central Limited has been established to manage the investment assets of nine Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) funds across the Midlands. It will be responsible for managing around £40bn of assets on behalf of 900,000 LGPS members and 2,500 employers.
The Company is owned by the participating pension schemes, making them both our shareholders and our clients, creating an exciting and unusual opportunity in client servicing and shareholder relationship management and reporting. And as one of the eight new LGPS asset pools, we also form part of a significant new sector in the pensions industry which attracts keen interest from Government, and scrutiny from a wide group of sector and industry stakeholders.

You will have the opportunity to influence, manage and develop the client and stakeholder engagement strategy, and the client services framework for the entire organisation. This role is key to developing the necessary strong relationships and trust with our clients, shareholders and wider stakeholder community.
Responsibilities:
As Head of Client Services and Stakeholder Relations, you can expect to have responsibility for ensuring that the Company has the capability to:
Clients
• Build and maintain client confidence in the Company’s ability to identify and meet their needs.
• Develop a comprehensive client engagement and reporting framework and strategy.
• Build and maintain a powerful reputation through clear and consistent two-way communication.
• Conduct business reviews to ensure our products and services meet client needs.
• Ensure client reporting is accurate, consistent, timely and meets client requirements.
• Escalate and resolve quickly any areas of concern raised by clients.
• Monitor company performance against client service level agreements, and escalate potential issues.
• Liaise across internal teams to ensure client needs are fulfilled quickly and effectively.
Shareholders
• Build and maintain investor confidence in the Company’s vision to deliver shareholder value.
• Develop a comprehensive shareholder engagement and reporting framework and strategy.
• Build and maintain a powerful reputation through clear and consistent two-way communication.
• Manage relationships with individual shareholders and their advisers.
• Provide market insights to the Executive team, including financial trends, shareholder concerns, competitor actions, and anything that might impact the Company.
• Oversee and manage regular shareholder reporting as well as preparation of the Annual Report.
Stakeholders
• Identify key stakeholders and develop an effective and proportionate engagement and communications strategy to meet their needs.
• Ensure the content of the Company’s website, and use of social media meets the digital communication needs of all stakeholders, including clients and shareholders.
Key Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with experience in driving business results through effective leadership and inspiration of a team.  The job requires someone who is an entrepreneur and determined to see what is possible.  Importance is placed on collaboration, attention to detail and drive to be successful.
You will be expected to have the following:
• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; an MBA or other postgraduate qualification would be an asset.
• A strong record of building positive long-term relations with clients and / or investors.
• Thorough knowledge and expertise in capital markets and performance metrics for companies.
• Very familiar with valuation and financial modelling techniques used by investors and analysts.
• A deep understanding of trends in capital markets, macroeconomics, competitors and customer trends.
• Someone who is entrepreneurial in orientation, as well as having a client-service mentality; must be able to excel under pressure, as well as meet short deadlines.
• Experience of the use of digital media in building effective two-way communication with multiple target audiences.
• Experience of working with local authorities or local government pension schemes would be an advantage.
• Understanding and appreciation of ESG issues and how these can be managed / influence client needs would be desirable.
• Possesses excellent communication skills, with the ability to craft and present powerful and engaging messages that inspire others.
• An approachable and accessible working style; someone who can win the confidence and trust of clients, stakeholders and colleagues.
• Proven ability to build and motivate a high performing team of professionals.
